What to wear as a plus one to a christening

New DP has invited DD and I to a christening in a few weeks. I have not seen any of the people who will be there for 2-3 years, in which time I've gone from a size 8 to a 14 through medication.

I have a very small budget but have no idea what suits me or what to wear.

I'm short-5ft 3, good but muscular, short legs, a large stomach and very small boobs.

Any ideas welcome.

For stomach skimming I always feel confident in a nice shift dress. How do you feel about your arms? Bare arms and good legs sticking out from a nice shift dress draws attention away from the middle.

I agree with Duckies, a shift would be good, or a skater dress or fit and flare.

Dorothy Perkins has some well priced dresses and extra discounts on ome of them.
How about this floral skater dress?

Or this one is petite length which may be better.

A nice Spring dress with heels/ pretty ballet flats. Probably want tops of arms covered as its in a Church. I'd go for something flowery based on a light colour

@BigFatBloomers that dress is lovely, can I wear nude tights with it with black heels?

Yes, that sounds great. Maybe fine black tights if it turns out to be really horrible weather!
