Boy Baby Christening - What to wear so not a Chav...?

10 month old ds being christened next month.
Thought of linen trousers beige and white cotton shirt (longsleeved grandad collar or short sleeved normal)from Monsoon but looking at moondogs comments on 4 month suit thread is this chav??? Or is it the addition of a waistcoat or jacket that tips it over the edge?
Really don't fancy the idea of a frilly sailor suit.

Have you looked in House of Fraser? Might find some nice preppy stuff there

I think just shirt and trousers sounds fine, but I am no arbiter of style...

I think linen trousers and grandad shirt are lovely for baby boy. Jojomamanbebe have a lovely white shirt that ds has (cheaper than monsoon too). I would avoid waistcoat though

I think trousers, shirt & jumper looks smart...Whatever you do don't put a waistcoat on your Baby or a tie (I've seen it done) it looks awful!

BHS do a lovely silk romper for boys - thats the sort of thing I will be getting for DS when he's Christened in the next couple of months.

Traditional yet indication his gender

That was fun, (I have a DD, so not looked for boys clothes before)...
