Who dresses the Trivago lady?

Am I the only one watching too much daytime television who takes an inordinate interest in what the Trivago lady is wearing in her latest advert, when a new one starts doing the rounds?

It's not that I particularly like or dislike any of her outfits, they always just seem a bit odd to me (?) They are almost too idiosyncratic to be styled for an advert, which makes me wonder if she chooses them?

Or maybe a genius stylist who knows how to dress her like a 'normal' person?

Or all part of the magical brew of so-wrong-it's-right that is the Trivago advert!

Someone please say I'm not the only one!

I think Featherstep has a point. Women in adverts are usually dressed very sexily/revealing so she does stand out. But I do wonder at her choice of outfits because, like other posters, I always think there is something just not quite there to make her outfits work.

I like her.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been thinking this, she's a very pretty woman with a lovely voice, but her outfit choices always seem totally off.

Mulberrysilk · 04/04/2018 12:55

They are Australian ads. I think that explains it.

Atts · 13/04/2018 22:30

My husband laughs at me as I always complain that the stylist needs shooting!!! Everything she wears hides her figure or just looks wrong

BobLoblawLawBlog · 14/04/2018 11:42

Dalmatian print jacket with rucksack anyone?

Skeeks1 · 07/07/2018 20:49

No, you're not the only one.
I think it's an Australian thing.
Trivago doesn't have the 'best' deals either.

Muffinsandtea · 07/07/2018 21:06

I had to Google her and found this - magazine.trivago.co.uk/who-is-the-trivago-girl-an-interview-with-gabrielle-miller/

UterusUterusGhali · 07/07/2018 21:24

Oh god I'm so glad other people have noticed!

It's all not-quite-right isn't it? Wrong sizes? A bit jumble saley?

Without wishing to offend she does kinda look like she's from a religious sect. Plymouth Brethren or some such. They often dress similarly. Modest, nice enough pieces, but somehow different enough that you just know they're Brethren.

UterusUterusGhali · 07/07/2018 21:30

Having just googled images I think it's because she's in her early 20's and looks like she's wearing her mum's clothes.

I also hadn't realised how pretty she is. :)

LynR6 · 23/08/2019 20:28

Trivago girl's clothes are ghastly - frumpy and unflattering. As for her hair. . . .!

MoltonSilver · 23/08/2019 23:06

Australian fashion.

EnidButton · 23/08/2019 23:14

But you care about her enough to search for this thread from last year Lyn

Miseryisabutterfly · 23/08/2019 23:49

This is hilarious. My mum lived in Australia when the ads started airing and she is famous there for being in the trivago ads 😂 my mum was almost proud of her.

JaneJeffer · 23/08/2019 23:59

Her fringe is wonky.

Davespecifico · 24/08/2019 00:30

I always wonder the same. Every Trivago person is dressed really strangely. It’s not fashionable, it’s not young, it’s not old, just random and weird.

StarlightLady · 24/08/2019 08:13

She is Australian and a resident of Berlin, which probably reflects on her accent. Few people in advertising, if any, choose what to wear for the shoot.

I don’t know about dressing her, but being past the curious stage, l would like to undress her. Wink

jcurve · 24/08/2019 11:25

She definitely is not dressed in an Australian style. We aren’t that frumpy.

Trivago is a German company based in Düsseldorf. Blame the Germans?

thisenglishlife · 24/08/2019 13:50

It's German fashion, they dress quite 80s/90s unless wealthy. (She's Australian but was spotted or auditioned in Germany)

Betty777 · 24/08/2019 20:18

She's dressed by committee. Wardrobe decisions like that are almost always signed off by multiple people, that's why it hasn't ended up looking like one person's taste (instead it looks like nobody's taste).

In her case I'd say they are aiming to make her appeal to as many people as possible by trying to look like she could be any age, and without dressing her as one particular 'type' or person (ie she's not young, old, cool, conservative, posh or sexy)

Used to work in advertising and remember some article panning the Trivago ads along the lines of 'Trivago ads are what you get when everyone involved in making them has given up trying to do a good job' Grin
