I have always looked good in it but I bought a t shirt v necked long sleeves in the gap sale and it has been in my wardrobe for months Put it on today and I looked awful in it?!?!?!? Either I am too old or I need a fake tan now to be able to wear it.I am 42 fgs not 62

I dont think those jersey type v necks are always that flattering either, perhaps it needs flouncing up a bit?

I think flouncing it up would be worse.I have lovely black high waisted trousers and have had to resort to white linen top and look about 10 yrs younger.

I think that you older you get, the more colour you need round your face, to bring out the best features(was told by a 'lifestyle guru' type at Rosemary Conley!) So if the black isn't suiting you anymore and your shape hasn't changed ie it's not the colour but the style that isn't working then experiment with other colours and save the black for slouching!

I am in the first flush of youth (hem hem) with marvellous pregnancy glow and still look shite in black.

try navy or chocolate brown (you will def suit one more than the other)
