Can you wear black shoes with a navy suit?

Just that, really. I am starting a new job so need to buy some new clothes. Ideally I would have black court shoes to wear with black or red clothes and navy to wear with navy clothes.

However, I don’t have a great deal of money. So can I get away with black shoes with a navy dress or suit?

I think that's fine although navy would look even more stylish. Is your dress code very formal

Burgundy works with everything. Especially if you have a bit of scarf to blend it all in. I did that for years in the early 80's. I guess purple wd work nowadays.

Yes just make sure it looks deliberate i.e have a black bag to pull the look together, Black and navy can look great if worn that way like the pictures I’ve attached, if not I think it can look as though you put the wrong shoes on by mistake in the dark!

As pp said, it has to look deliberate, so black bag and a scarf with black and navy and another colour.
