Thanks Smile

I have to admit I'm bemused by all the women who want to wear white to someone's wedding. I don't know if it's a lack of imagination or a deep seated desire for it to be them. It's actually very strange.

There are so many beautiful dresses out there, so many different colours. Why do you want the white one? Do you generally dress in white?

I think it's lovely. I would not wear it to someone's wedding. Because as said, I don't want to be the bride and I can think of other colours to wear to weddings. Confused

BubblesBuddy · 29/03/2018 23:51

It’s got flowers in yellow all over it!!! It’s not white! It’s fine for a British wedding in Spain that’s informal. Whoever saw a bride wearing a dress like this? It’s obviously not competing with the bride in style or colour. Some comments on here are truly odd.

mickeymacca · 29/03/2018 23:58

I think there are nicer dresses you could choose. It's not very dressy. I'd wear it to a bbq

AuntieStella · 30/03/2018 00:07

I think the effect is too much white, because the pattern is pale. And I really don't think the back works well at all.

What do you like about it, OP? Genuine question, because if it really is your dream of a dress, then I suspect you'll wear it whatever is said about it. But if you posted because you're not sure, if you can say what you like (and what you're not sure about) perhaps we can help you look for others

Singadream · 30/03/2018 00:13

It’s nice. I don’t hold with not wearing white. But then I didn’t wear white at my own wedding.

SundayGirls · 30/03/2018 00:22

Bubbles with its cream base colour, chiffon ruffles and romantic styling, it definitely has bridal elements to it, yellow flowers or no yellow flowers. It doesn't have to be an actual wedding dress to compete with the bride. Just looking around the wedding crowd, the bride should stand out for being the one in a cream/ivory/white dress alone, if its that kind of traditional wedding. It's not hard for a wedding guest to find a coloured dress surely.

Tantpoke · 30/03/2018 00:25

Big Fat No to wearing white of any description to a wedding, just don't. It's been a golden rule for a long time for a reason, the Bride and only the Bride should wear white on her special day.

It will give you time to look for a more classy dress without a cut out back.

DarkRoomDarren · 30/03/2018 03:23

Planning to wear this to the next wedding I attend. Too much? It’s fit flowers on it! Totally fine I think... Grin

HisBetterHalf · 30/03/2018 03:55

I think its pretty and very suitable.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/03/2018 04:01

It’s too white.

BringBiscuits · 30/03/2018 04:10

I thought the problem with wearing white to a wedding was that you may be mistaken for the bride? This has pattern so in my rule book doesn’t count!

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 30/03/2018 04:10

I was at a wedding where a guest wore this!!! (I have de-identified the photo as much as possible). Now that was "too white".

BringBiscuits · 30/03/2018 04:23

Yes! Wow! Definitely too white!!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/03/2018 04:27

That is so bridal! Was anything said?

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 30/03/2018 04:35

Hell yeah! The bride tried to be gracious but there wasn't one person I spoke to who didn't bring it up. (I'm was in the bridal party so people somehow thought I was the person to talk to about it). Certain family members in particular were really quite displeased. Unfortunately for her, the woman did also behave quite inappropriately in other ways too, which meant that she was quite the centre of attention!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/03/2018 04:38

What a drama, can’t get past why any woman would want to do that. Attention I guess.

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 30/03/2018 04:42

She did seem to be seeking attention the whole time. Well she got it.

DarkRoomDarren · 30/03/2018 05:33

@coat

Yikes! What a very odd thing to do.

LockedOutOfMN · 30/03/2018 11:31

Is the guest in your photo also wearing Roman armour WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat ? I'm really baffled by those weird red shoulder pads and gauntlets.

Megatron · 30/03/2018 11:44

I don't think it's a great dress. (Sorry!)

LemonysSnicket · 30/03/2018 18:57

It makes the probably 6 foot, size 8 model look ‘hulking’ but looks lovely from the front

ferrier · 30/03/2018 20:08

^^ The op's dress? The model looks very slim to me Shock
