I’m about to go in to town for a new pair of jeans, gulp.

And I have a feeling of dread already. Not sure if I even really want jeans, trousers for everyday, maybe?
I’m 5’8”. Used to be a true hourglass, but 3 massive kids and 30lbs + of weight loss have left me with the flabbiest belly.
Size 16, which I feel rules the likes of Oasis/Warehouse etc out.
Any tips on where to look?

TK Maxx men's section. Men have such comfy jeans and they don't even realise it!

Pinklady1981 · 25/03/2018 13:19

Last week I brought 2 pairs of new jeans from Dorothy Perkins, really nice fit and comfy. They do loads of different styles. Haven't brought jeans from DP for years...very impressed! Good luck xx

Madonnasmum · 25/03/2018 13:23

Just bought some great ones from txmaxxx called curvey and they are a fab cut for jeans. No gappy waist!

kaytee87 · 25/03/2018 13:44

Try Gap xx

DianaT1969 · 25/03/2018 13:46

If you decide not to get jeans, I loved the quality and fit of Next capri trousers. I'm a curvy 14 and they are really flattering and comfortable. Planning to buy more colours.

I’m about to go in to town for a new pair of jeans, gulp.
Sagentcaper · 25/03/2018 13:47

I'm a size 16, 5'8 and I have Oasis 'cherry' jeans which I love. Good luck

StylishMummy · 25/03/2018 14:00

Following as I have the same sort of proportions and any cheap jeans seem baggy around my arse & stupidly tight on my calves Hmm

SilverGiraffe7 · 25/03/2018 14:07

I'm a size 16 and these are the most comfortable jeans I've ever had! They fit really well and are so soft with just enough stretch.

KnitFastDieWarm · 25/03/2018 14:32

I’m a 16 and I have couple of fantastic pairs of jeans from M & co of all places - super comfy, mid rise, classic dark wash, great true straight shape, only 20 quid. They don’t look at all frumpy, look great rolled with boots or flats, and are a great fit on the hourglass-arsed (ie me Grin)

greenlavender · 25/03/2018 18:48

GAP - no question

JayeAshe · 25/03/2018 18:58

Definitely GAP. Just a week ago I went in wearing an old pair size 28 . The 25 fitted perfectly. Like you I'm a former hourglass with a belly.

I buy the 1969 authentic real straight jeans and wear them till threadbare (fairly physically active lifestyle).

Good luck.

I never thought I'd say it, but try Tesco. I absolutely love their jeans

Silverstar2 · 25/03/2018 19:19

I second M and Co straight leg. I am 5 foot 1 and a size 12, so often get their petite range jeans, £20. I like jeans that are mid rise and these are perfect. They do various shades of blue, and black. Last well too.

Good luck!

Girlfriend jeans from H&M, size 16 (44 waist) High rise so they don't hang too low and give you muffin handles.
The tyranny yf the skinny jeans must end. Sick of them.
I had your fear a few weeks ago but found these jeans and love them and made me feel great.

Assignmentcheat · 25/03/2018 19:55

I'm back! And I have some.
Thank you all for the suggestions, I kept tabs when I could.
I got a pair in Gap and I love them!
They say stretch straight on the label, I got a size 32R.I think this is them.
I bought new runners too, a pair of Stan Smiths.
So pleased as the jeans look fab, are so flattering.
But the star of the show was a pair of trousers out of M&S. Was only in for some knickers and just having a browse. Have been looking for a pair like these for ages (Gap ones didn't fit at all!).
They look super stylish with new runners too, so its a win all round!

So happy for you OP!
There is nothing more mood destabilizing than trouser shopping. The changing rooms, the crowds.
I have wandered for hours from shop to shop and keep seeing the same shit in every store and feel too disheartened to even try stuff on.
YOu said runners! ha ha. Love it.

Assignmentcheat · 25/03/2018 20:36
