Best no show socks to wear with Supergas?

Or even brogues. There seems to be a lot out there but I can't decide what to buy. The ones that I want to buy have already been sold out. Ideally I'd like something cotton or natural fibre, rather than nylon, to prevent my shoes from getting sweaty.

What do people recommend please? I don't have Primark or TKmaxx near me either.

TIA

The best ones I've had are Gap. They're dearer than the others - £9.99 for two pairs, I think - but they don't show and they stay on.

Rumpledfaceskin · 22/03/2018 21:44

The only ones I’ve found that are good are from the the men’s sock section in uniqlo. They cover most of the foot unlike those stupid little things you get that surround your toes and slip down all the time.

Blahdyblaah · 22/03/2018 21:46

It's rubbish you don't have a Primark because that's where I get mine every summer. They have a small rubber bit on the back to help them stay up. Could someone not buy you a pack and send them on? Maybe worth a go for a couple of quid

Becauseimworthit79 · 22/03/2018 21:59

Thanks for replies. To be honest, I'm not really keen on Primark in general but I know people seem to rate it for the low prices.

Any online recommendations? I'm afraid Uniqlo and Gap are also a train journey away. :(

Next footsies. I love them and wear with converse etc. They have a little rubbery panel on the heel which helps them grip too.

I buy the men's ones in Next. They're not as nice cotton as the first lot I bought, but still work ok. Genuinely can't be seen

treaclesoda · 23/03/2018 01:20

The best ones I've ever had are by Converse. But I got them in TK Maxx, and I've never seen them again to buy more. But if you see them anywhere, they are worth getting. Nice and thick, high percentage of cotton and they don't slip off.

The gap ones can be brought online have 40% off today as well.

The best ones for me are Sheec Sole Huggers: www.amazon.co.uk/Show-Non-Slip-Socks-SoleHugger/dp/B00B281MHO/ref=sr_1_3?psc=1&keywords=sheec%2Bsocks&th=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1521810536&sr=8-3.

They come in sizes and have silicone pads on the back, important if you have big feet and the one-size kind ping off the heel every thirty seconds. They also have the toe seam well away from the toe so they don't rub.

I've wasted so much money on socks that I had to put straight in the bin because they wouldn't stay on, then I wasted more money on the ones that stayed on but were too tight so got a hole in the toe halfway through the first wear.

Thank you all for suggestions. I shall explore the various options.

I've just ordered the socks recommended by thefirst
I'll let you know what they are like when they arrive.

AnyFucker · 23/03/2018 18:19

I have some Next ones.

I wear a size 6 and use the S/M ones so they don't bunch and the grippy thing stops them sliping underneath

closephine85 · 23/03/2018 18:30

These ones from Next are great - got the heel grip and cover a bit more at the front than the footsie ones which I find makes them more comfortable www.next.co.uk/g764198s7#187545

Becauseimworthit79 · 23/03/2018 19:39

Thanks Muriel.

Next seems popular too here, so I’ll have a look there too.

Someone on S+B recommended these

They are fab with my Superga's

thefirstmrsdewinter · 24/03/2018 00:29

@MurielsBottom oh good, I hope they work as well for you. They seem to be half the price I paid for them a year ago so I may buy some more myself.

Op, Mabuas are also good, but a bit small if you're a 7 or bigger.

MurielsBottom · 25/03/2018 21:04

New socks arrived this evening! Good old amazon. Will report tomorrow as to how they wear.
