Jeans and ankle boots - how??

Saw a great article a few weeks ago about combining cropped jeans, ankle boots and a blazer for spring. I really like this look but how practical is it?

Are full-length jeans with boots a no-no?

It does look nice to have a bit of bare skin between jeans and boots but don't your legs get cold? You can't really wear that until the weather is spring-like by which time it's surely time to ditch the boots for more spring-like footwear?

I think I am turning into my mother! I think on the pintrest photo the first two look best, the fashionable third one looks silly to me.

I wear shorter leg jeans with ankle boots. The jeans are just at the top of the boot. As for socks, those net gym ones are great. Not the trainer liners because they come up too high on the ankle, just the foot ones.

Hmmmm I don’t think either view is right or wrong

Basically it depends on whether leg lengthening is the aim in your outfit and what the colours of the boot and the trousers are (same or different) Also if the boots are heeled or not.

Also I don’t think you can judge the look from just a photo of the ankles - you’d need to look at the whole outfit to see if it was coherent or not.

Hmmm, I think it depends on the boots. I just tried it as gettting ready to go out and am wearing low heeled Hudson boots ( about one inch high) and skinny jeans and rolling them up cuts my legs off and makes em look shorter. I'm quite tall with long legs so think other folks might struggle. However it works better with higher boots like the image.
