Rosacea help - newly diagnosed

Hello

I've recently been diagnosed with rosacea. My nose is very red and sore and the rest of my face is patchy with it.

My GP started with metronidazole gel but after four weeks it has made no difference (if anything has made it worse) so she has now given me Lymecycline. I've only just started this.

Can anyone share any success stories of this treatment or suggest what else I can try. I'm 41 and until last year have always had very good skin, never suffered acne and have always taken good care of it. I'm not sure what could have triggered it and it is really getting me down and knocking my confidence. Even good concealer isn't able to cover it up unless I reapply every hour.

I have Rosacea too. Redness and capillaries on my face and redness and spots on my chest. Ipl has reduced the redness on my face and chest after one session. The capillaries have been zapped a bit but I need a couple more sessions. I’ve been using a facial oil at night which is very soothing on my face but makes my chest more spotty.
Mirvaso ( vasoconstrictor cream ) worked really well for me the other night . It stopped redness and hot flushing with wine and seemed to work longer then 12 hours on my face. However there was no apparent effect on my chest.
It’s lovely to see the before and after pictures and to discuss the various treatments. I’m so glad Soolantra has worked for so many.

Hi OP - Sorry I didn't get back to you re-laser. There are so many different kinds of laser treatments claiming to be suitable for rosacea and as many studies showing how damaging they can be. I chose a very gentle (non-ablative) form of laser treatment called Fotona which is going very well so far. (It's definitely not painful at all, which is a relief). I expect that I am going to need a few more treatments to really give you a better picture, but the redness on my chest is already greatly improved.

@beautifullymixed sorry for the delay. Initially when trying to control the rosacea I applied lemon juice and warm water before black seed oil, just a small amount, enough to rub into the whole face, prob about half a teaspoon. Now it has cleared up I use the same amount after I wash my face. I just use water to wash my face (don't really wear make up). Other than the fine lines of a 40 year old, my skin is great now. Still has a red tone but much less obvious and no spots.
I'm wary of touting it as a miracle cure but always try to share in case it helps anyone else.
