I'm growing out a pixie cut. It's just past my ear lobes but is so slow growing. I have fine hair. I currently look a mess and I'm getting married in June. Help!

Oh, following.

Would love a mane of hair to go on holiday and swish around. Day to day, i keep my short-ish and would live to go long occasionally. A wedding sounds the perfect occasion, following with interest.

Im in the same boat, growing out a pixie. The pain!
I keep having the back cut to prevent the mullet look, meanwhile I seem to be sporting a mushroom on top at the moment.
I’ve thought about having a few extensions put in round the front but as my hair is naturally curly, I don’t know if it’d look odd.
I do straighten it but it enevitibly ends up at least wavy by the end of the day.

It would be cheaper to get a decent wig, some of the more expensive ones look really natural. Alternatively, go for a few consultations at local salons and see what they suggest. There might be a midway style you could wear while growing out your hair.

Extensions are almost impossible to blend on short hair. You'd need a very experienced extensionist and you should expect the price they charge to reflect their experience.

A weave might be a compromise, assuming your hair is long enough.

How far in are you? I started growing mine out last August, was close to cracking by November, then suddenly in December I had a bit of a growth spurt. Then another one seems to have happened at the start of this month. Mine is still uneven, but the longest bits are about halfway down my neck now. The back is shorter, but getting there. I haven't had it cut at all and am going to leave it for a year and see how it looks then. The current plan is to get it all to one length and then try for a long bob.
If you're not getting married until June, then you still have three months. A lot can happen between now and then. In the meantime, hair pins are your friend, especially when it comes to fringes.

I've been growing it since September. I've had the back trimmed ( I don't want a mullet) but the sides are still only down to my earlobes. A miracle is not going to happen between now and June sadly.

Could you do something like this - I always loved Gwynnie’s hair in Sliding Doors. Maybe have a colour change too, to make it feel a bit more special?

I gave myself a number 4 buzz cut all over three months before my wedding as I was having a bad hair day! In fairness my fiancé helped me do it, so I knew he wouldn’t be bothered. But it was about 2 inches long on the big day!
