the make-up artist (for she was, it was Stila) put the eyeliner on after the shadow. I have always, always put the eyeliner on first.
Shadow gives you a chance to blend any mistakes away, don't you think?
Is it just me? Make up artist said that she'd never heard of anyone doing this.

doesn't your shadow cover up your liner then? i rarely wear shadow but when i do it's under the liner. the liner is the last bit.

and then mascara.

eyeshadow and then eye liner for me, I use a smudger to soften the line or correct any mistakes

I put the eyeliner first.. a very dark brown... and then a lighter brown eyeshadow usually

gives a nice smoky effect

eye liner last for me

Shadow, liner, mascara. Sometimes smudge a lighter colour of shadow over the liner and blend, but I like the definite line better generally.

I had my face made up at bobbi brown counter ,she put gel liner on my upper lids only and mascara only on upper lids.I must admit it took a bit of getting used to but I really like the look.
She said it's good for opening up the eyes and the liner should be enough to show when your eyes are wide open.
I love the fact that my mascara doesn't smudge on the lower lashes -because it's not there!!
