Please help me find an outfit for SIL wedding - I'm tall!

The facts: 5'11, ten and a half stone, mid-length brown, but highlighted hair, not an extroverted dresser.
The wedding is at the beginning of August; a small 'garden-party' type do, so I don't have to think about being too ultra-wedding smart. However, after a terrible start to the year, I would really love to look sensational, glamorous (but not tarty), cool, calm and effortless.....not much to ask I know! I have a mid-range budget but because its so long since I've done any proper shopping, I'm seriously out of touch with whats in/out, where to look etc. I really look forward to your suggestions. Oh, and another thing, I would like my dh to see me and fancy the pants of me! TIA

I like this

I do like it, but I'm sort of (and should've mentioned in the OP) looking for something that I can get some continued wear out of. This indicates that we don't get out much...which is very true!

Topshop tall range is brilliant - the leg lengths go up to 36", but you need to find one of the bigger stores because the small ones often only have a couple of pairs of jeans.

I'm the same size and weight as you and find Jigsaw trousers great length and cut-wise. Don't be put off by the floaty florals image of the shop - I don't do anything floaty and yet still buy most of my stuff from there.

Go for classy classics and then glitz up (well it is a wedding!) with accessories to keep the cost down and the result re-useable. I reckon anyway!

HTH.

(also Jigsaw can sometimes lengthen the trousers if necessary - I had this done when I thought I might wear them with heels - but am 5'11'' and married to a Hobbit so went back and asked them to reverse! - am in fact wearing them today and v comfy they are too).

What about this ?

Tutter · 22/05/2007 12:26

as not ultra formal agree that fab trousers that you will wear again plus a contrasting colour top (good for tall laydeeez)

if trousers are plainish then choose a floaty or detailed top to make the outfit more wedding-y

what about somehting like this with the long tall sally white linen tews?
