Recommendations for a great hair colourist in/around Newcastle (or anywhere in northern england or Edinburgh!)

I'm currently mousy blonde and I'm hoping to go a Julianne Moore-ish red. I know red is a tricky colour so I really want the best colourist I can find without having to travel all the way to London every 6 weeks...

Online reviews for local hairdressers all seem to be the usual mix of 1 - 5 so pretty useless, and none of my friends get their hair fully coloured.

Any recommendations very welcome - I don't mind travelling over Manchester way, or up to Edinburgh as I spend a lot of time in those places anyway.

No problem, I have been going there for 13 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I used to travel 3h each way when I lived in West Yorkshire, now that I am back in the North East it "only" takes me an hour but it is well worth it!
I started taking DD (6) too as she has inherited my curly hair

Hairdressing seems like the one thing that’s so difficult to get on line reviews on. I’m never quite happy with my colour and I’m North east so watching with interest.
