Anyone else really disappointed by Phillips Lumea?

I bought mine in September and have been using every 2 weeks on legs, bikini and underarms. I have been waxing every 2-3 weeks as well. I have dark hair and pale skin and have been using on the highest setting each time

I have noticed barely any change at all to underarms, and only slightly more to legs and bikini. I really expected to see significant hair loss in those areas after nearly 6 months of use. Anyone had a similar experience, and any tips or ideas? Thanks

I love mine! My underarms could look stubbly over the course of a day before but now i shave a couple of times a week. DH said he can see the difference in the bikini area!

Legs aren’t so great as mine are so bloody long it takes forever to do them.

With waxing maybe you need to leave it a couple of days before doing IPL to give the hair follicle time to start forming below the surface so there’s something to zap.

Try Friction Free Shaving, they’re amazing, so smooth compared to the off the shelf razors.

I have pale skin and dark hair. I’ve found it’s worked really well. I’m terrible for remembering to actually do it though.

Lotta hmm, my theory is looking half-baked! I've found having to shave rather than wax bikini area one of the most annoying things about it. Possibly it just seems like the lumea isn't working well there because I'm less used to stubble in that area. Overall I've found it a bit underwhelming. Yes, hair growth is reduced but it's a lot of money and faff just to shave less often. I'd probably only recommend for people who are very self-conscious about their body hair.

Good idea, thanks!

This thread has reminded me that it’s time for my maintenance zap session.

I bought one recently and the instructions clearly say it's ok to wax as the pre treatment, which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

However as the hairs are all at various stages in the growing cycle, even if you use it after waxing, there should be some hairs which have grown back but are too short to be pulled out by waxing. But I guess this way it will take longer to get results.

I wax my bikini line and shave my armpits. I think the Lumea works great on both but better on bikini line.
