Hello! Dh and I are going for a long weekend in New York early April. I don't do casual well. I am early 30s, size 8/10 and 5ft2. very pair shaped with short, chunky legs. I am always in gym kit in the week as go to the gym daily and end up in it most of the day. Weekends are normally joni jeans from topshop and some forn of baggy jumper.
I have lost all confdence since having my youngest, and everything in the shops looks cropped?! what do I wear? what shops should I be going to? WillI need a proper coat or layers for NY in April? looking for some direction as I'm lost online shopping and horrified at the thought of cropped lycra tops on my body 🙈

I'm going to Boston in early April, which is meant to hover at about 10-12 degrees. I would imagine New York in April to be similar to March in the UK.

I'm going to be wearing some tan lace-up ankle boots, skinny jeans, thin jumpers like this from Uniqlo and a "nice" waterproof mac. Like this but without a furry hood. If the forecast is a bit warmer and dryer, I might take my leather jacket instead.

Oh, I'm early 30s, 5ft3 and a size 12 btw!

Thank you. I was thinking of my leather jacket or buying a nice mac. I'll look at those links when I have 5. We don't have a uniqlo by me, what's the fit like?

I'm a large, due to my chest. You'd probably be ok in an S, or an M if you want a slightly looser more casual fit.

That mac is expensive being a Barbour, it was just the first one I found that looks like mine which is a Ralph Lauren. Again, Uniqlo does some good ones.

I went to NYC last week and layering was key. I wore skinny jeans, white pumps (my feet don't get cold), J Crew perfect fit long sleeve top (I have burgundy and grey), a furry gilet, a navy boiled wool coat from Zara and a big leopard print scarf. The Uniqlo store on Broadway is amazing by the way - it's huge!

so you think I will need that many layers in April. the jacket bit is throwing me the most I think?

I would take the layers in case. I really feel the cold and hate being cold.

Hope you have a great time.
