Can anyone find a lightweight gilet?

Not sure where to look on line - am v pregnant so shopping in RL not an option at the mo...
Would prefer light cotton fleece type material, not bothered if it had a hood or not.
Any ideas?
Tried M&S and only had them in their "CLassic Collection" ie for ladies of a certain age....
TIA

My friend got a nice one in Edinburgh Woollen Mill, which also owns Pitlochry stores I believe. is there one near you?

saltire · 02/05/2007 16:47

But I think one of those padded type would be better, because her's does make her look a bit "more mature"

I don't want a padded/horsey looking one, but a lightweight, casual one which just helps keep you warm in the garden.
Will be for post baby wear. No Edin. Mill near us no.
Have also checked Next and nothing there. Wasn't really after style advice thank you MT, just ideas where to shop.
I know I would use it as I have one for winter and use it loads...

Try outdoors type stores like Milletts or Blacks.

scootermum · 02/05/2007 17:13

If you cant find a Gilet Pannacotta-maybe one of the new waistcoats that are all over the place?Warmish and you will look bang on trend..Ive bought one ready for postpartum in hope it will cover up all my biscuit fat..

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 17:16

if for garden wear only try one of these

LIZS · 02/05/2007 17:17

these or this perhaps ?

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 17:21

or plain fleece here or here

am having trouble with the 'cottony' bit.

Pannacotta · 02/05/2007 17:39

Thanks all, prob being bit fussy with the cotton thing, just not v keen on polyester.
My 2 yr old DS has a few cotton ones, one with a hood and its just what I want in an adult version, just can't seem to find it.
One of the Joules ones was ok MrsB, although I am hankering after sth bit more stylish so I can wear it out as well as in the garden.
Like scootermum, also thought it might help cover up post baby tummy and help give some privacy when feeding.
Will check out waistcoats but I do need sth not too stiff/starchy IYSWIM...

This sort of thing?

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 17:51

aha
so sweatshirty rather than fleecy as such

here you go

I did look on the normal surfy places (FatFace, white stuff, Joe Browns etc) but none in for summer

JackieNo · 02/05/2007 17:53

I see - I found this , but MrsB's much better.

Pannacotta · 02/05/2007 17:54

Thanks JackieNo that is funkier and smarter but still bit padded/stiff.
I think maybe what I need is a cap sleeve shrug/bolero type thing, sth more feminine and less sporty/golf lady looking - I am neither!

right hand main pic here ?

good over tunicy tops which in turn are good over post-baby tum...

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 17:58

ah so we are thinking more cardie now?

Pannacotta · 02/05/2007 18:15

JN I like your most recent link, the Toggi one, MrsB cant open your link or even get on the Am App website but that sounds like it might be what I'm after, a hoody not a gilet.
Also like the Next one you linked to MrsB, all three a possibility, thanks!
Am also pondering shrug/cardi type things...
How do you find these links?!

never saw the point in gilets even when they were in fashion tbh

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 18:23

aha, if we told you that we'd be out of a job

Google cache of the American Apparel page is here - if it looks like it's what you want we'll have to see about getting you into the site properly.

Pannacotta · 02/05/2007 18:30

Thanks MrsB but cant get anywhere with the google cache (not sure what that is tbh) and I am on the AA site but no pics showing up, v odd...

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 18:46

gah
try again in the morning maybe
it's just this with no sleeves

Pannacotta · 02/05/2007 18:50

Thanks MrsB, will do, think it is really hoody was after not gilet, wrong choice of words... so thanks for bearing with me!
