Talk to me about semi permanent hair dye/ any other suggestions?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but I've never dyed my hair before Blush

I fancy a change in my hair. It used to be bra strap length, thick and naturally mid/dark brown, but I had it cut back in August to just about chin length. It's now grown to about collarbone length but its just taking ages to grow back, I feel like it just looks a bit boring?

Anyway, I would love to have very dark auburn hair or more red tinges in my hair but I'm worried about the upkeep of semi permanent dye. Does it wash out after a while or would I need to wait for it to grow out? And how easy would it be to dye darkish brown hair auburn?

If it would be difficult to maintain does anyone have any suggestions for a more interesting hairstyle I could go for? Sorry for the long post!

Not hard to maintain semi permanent colour at all. I use Casting and it gradually fades over the next month or so, so there is no visible regrowth. Casting leaves my hair in beautiful condition as well so I use it when it is looking dull even if I’m not bothered about topping up the colour.

That's good to hear! Right now I'm looking at these two colours:

www.superdrug.com/L%27Oreal-Casting-Creme/Casting-454-Chocolate-Brownie-Brown-Semi-Permanent-Hair-Dye/p/602728

www.superdrug.com/L'Oreal-Casting-Creme/Casting-Creme-535-Chocolate-Brown-Semi-Permanent-Hair-Dye/p/418641

The second is subtle but seems to have a nice red undertone.

Also, I'm quite pale skinned with dark brown eyes, would these suit me? Blush

You could try some red highlights/slices of colour.

I have used both those colours and personally preferred Chocolate Brownie as it had a really warm, rich tone. I have similar colouring to you as well.

Give it a go - the great thing about s/p colour is that if you aren’t keen it doesn’t last forever and as I said before, Casting leaves your hair feeling lovely.

That's fab, thank you!
