How do I stop looking so washed out? Help!

I've got quite pale skin and dark circles under my eyes. Whatever makeup I try, I always end up looking washed out and tired. Any tips? I used to like experimenting with eye shadows but now a days I end up looking like a clown as it just doesn't go with my skin tone. I'm blonde with blue eyes and 29 yo. I have pretty good skin, but uneven skin tone if I don't wear foundation. I'm going makeup shopping on Saturday so would like to try something new. Most of my makeup is benefit or Laura mercier. Help!

I'm deathly pale and use the St Tropez gradual facial tanner every other day on my face & neck. It's very subtle - I don't look tanned at all, just less corpse-like.

Bobbi Brown colour corrector (not the concealer, which is too thick) is awesome for disguising dark circles.

If you're pale, and especially pale (or paler than usual) and tired with quite heavy periods think about getting checked for anaemia. Loads of women of childbearing age are anaemic.

No clue about makeup, so I'll go away now.Grin

I was about to mention Dandelion but only if you are pinkish rather than yellowish. I'm more yellowish and used to love how their Georgia powder made me look, but they discontinued it. If you can wear Dandelion, then just in case, I'd get more than one!

I wonder if you’re wearing the wrong toned foundation for your skin colour? For example, I have very pale yellow toned skin and if I use a very pale pink toned foundation I look like death, but a foundation just a light but yellow toned looks like me but healthier.
