Picked up a great pair on Friday and didn't think to look at the price-they were only flip flops after all.DP said "I will buy them for you"-lovely says I and then I am more than a little shocked when I found out how much they cost.

So ladies-how much is too much?

There is no such thing as 'posh' flip flops.

Flip flops are not shoes.

They are beachwear.

MrsJohnCusack · 01/05/2007 11:37

I just saw an interview with Denise Richards in Australian OK (I know, there's no excuse)

in one of the pics they showed shelves with 33 - yes, 33 - pairs of 'jandals' as they call them here in NZ. Now that's madness

£125 . Even my gast is flabbered and and I love shoes

BibiThree · 01/05/2007 11:40

are these them?

BibiThree · 01/05/2007 11:41

If they are, very pretty but £125..? I couldn't, unless I was rich of course!

Clary · 01/05/2007 11:42

whooosh they are not flip flops, they are elegant sandals. Thongs, if you will.

I bought some nice leather ones from Clarks last year and they still look nice now.

Not for work, maybe, but elsewhere you will wear them all summer and they will look so nice.

no, as i said, this was a few years ago. i had hurt my knee, so couldnt wear any sort of heel. and i needed something i could wear to a wedding and formally. that usually means heels , high ones with me, but dodgy knee.
the crystals on them wear beautiful, never lost their sparkle. they were what i call scissor ones with a toe post? i think? lovely brown leather, very very soft comfortable sole. even after my knee was much better and i could wear heels to fromal occasions, i still wore them lots.
price per wear, they were probly cheaper than many cheap shoes i have seen

incy · 02/05/2007 10:13

They are lovely. Enjoy them...

GythaOgg · 02/05/2007 10:17

at £125 for flip flops

contentiouscat · 02/05/2007 10:21

Definately no more than £40...they would probably join all the other pairs I dont wear because I have my comfy favourites on.

Surfermum · 02/05/2007 10:23

I splashed out on some lovely Roxy ones last summer and they were £15. Prior to that I'd always bought really cheap ones and it made me realise that paying a bit more is worth it. They are soooooo comfortable.

I'd probably go up to about £40 but they would have to be really comfortable and go with lots of outfits.

franca70 · 02/05/2007 10:25

I actually reckon that 19.99 pounds for a pair of havaians, or whatever the name is, is an insult. The probably don't cost more than 3 pounds in Brazil.

Whoooosh · 02/05/2007 14:01

OK have definitely decided to call them sandals as there is no way I would wear them on the beach

Still a lot of money though and still contemplating returning them

BibiThree-no those aren't them,I couldn't find them on the website

PeterAndreFanCLub · 02/05/2007 17:37

oh well that MAKES SENSE

franca70 · 02/05/2007 17:39

they might be overpriced, but nothing compared to 19.99 for a pair of plastic flip flops... (iyswim...)

Take a picture and post it on your profile? I am desperate to see them! Will also wave picture under DH's nose, stick one int he fridge, leave a copy in his shirt pocket, inside his laptop and on the windscreen of his car - should do the trick...

Whoooosh · 02/05/2007 22:55
