Which style of coat looks better when you have a large behind?

I need a new winter coat, have found two possibilities so far. I'm generally an 8 on the top and 12 on the bottom. I'm the same height as the model. The cut of the coats is different, I don't think I can get to them so would have to order online. Which do you think would suit better?

I need an everyday winter coat, plus I would wear it regularly for skiing and hiking.

I’m pear shaped and would worry that the second one would be very snug on the hips The first would be a safer choice for me.

Good luck though, I hate shopping for coats for this reason! Masculine cut formal coats can do one!

im pear shape and id always go for fitted where possible

The first one. The second one is cut too straight to accommodate more rounded hips and would be far too big on your shoulders.

I haven't bought a coat for 15 years Bolshybookworm but genuinely can't put it off much longer!

I was recommended the danefae website by a mumsnet poster and this where I bought my last winter coat. They have a number of Aline styles and are warm and waterproof (though the website is rubbish)
