Sorry if this has been done before, but need a "bf friendly" wedding outfit

Going to a friends wedding in 8 weeks and need to find suitable outfit that I will be able to breastfeed in. (So pleased that the dc are invited too)
Would like to be able to wear it for dc christening/blessing later in the year.
I'm 5ft 7, size 10/12, have short dark brown hair and am quite fair (although will prob get a bit of fake tan on)
TIA

Have a look here - mainly tops, but there is one dress and they are quite pretty jojomamanbebe . And you get an MN discount!

skirt, camisole, wrap cardigan.
Afraid I don't much like the Jojo dress, and bfing in a non-feeding dress, even a wrap one, involves much agility if you want to avoid exposing the whole nork to the assembled populace. Pushing a vest up from the waist is much easier.

Kew, Monsoon and Laura Ashley have fab skirts and at your height and size you should be able to get away with most things. Are you pear / hourglass / apple?

MrsBadger · 30/04/2007 12:32

Bottom left corner outfits here or here , latter possibly with spectacular hat.

You get the idea anway.

A note of caution re the feeding tops - I wore one to a wedding last year. All was going well and I was feeling quite smug for having had such a good idea... pulled baby off only to discover milk had been leaking out of his mouth and my whole front was soaking! Soooo normal stretchy tops are the best option i think.

runnyhabbit · 30/04/2007 13:07

Thank you!

MrsB - I'm more of a pear shape. Like the stuff from Next, esp the black and white skirt - thank you.

I've seen the Jojo dress, but its not really me iykwim

I was hoping someone would suggest a skirt/top combo, so I can get the maximum wear out of the whole outfit(have bought too many dresses in the past, and only worn them once or twice)

I like those JoPG, and I could wear a bf cami under the top. But what colour shoes/bag would go with them?

White bag and blue sandals?

JackieNo · 06/05/2007 16:07

Agree with aloha - principles have some blue sandals that might work, or possibly something neutral .

JackieNo · 06/05/2007 16:07

Actually maybe not the neutral - just looked at the skirt again and it's quite a pale ivory colour with it.

Aloha · 06/05/2007 16:08

Those are nice sandals! bingo - your outfit!

runnyhabbit · 06/05/2007 16:15

Oohh, I like the blue shoes

Methinks I need to go and try them on (not that I need an excuse for shopping)

Thank you!

Those sandals would look lovely with it. Good spot JackieNo.
Let us know how you get on

mrsdarcy · 06/05/2007 19:48

I don't have any suggestions, but you are being very sensible looking for a bf-friendly outfit.

I went to a wedding when DS2 was 6 weeks old, wearing a knee-length dress. I needed to feed him and the bride's SIL said "oh, you can borrow our room". So off I went thinking I'd be left in the room on my own or shown into the bathroom.

I got into the room to find it was a family dorm, and the SIL pottered about chatting to me whilst her 3 chldren avidly watched me strip off my dress down to my tights - post-natal belly flopping around me - get my norks out and give DS2 one of those newborn feeds that last about 40 minutes.

lookcook · 06/05/2007 20:33

if you do go for those shoes from principles - i noticed a discount in my she magazine for £10 off the principles website (you need to spend £50 to get the discount) the code is GORGEOUS and valid until 31st May

lookcook · 06/05/2007 20:45

just a thought - trousers and loose top? i went to a wedding when my dd was a few weeks old and wore white linen trousers and a loose but dressy black top - these might look good together
