Urgent Help needed - suits for fat birds

I am starting a secondment next week where I will have to attend court every day

Only have one black suit that still fits me - all the others are (a) too tight or (b) too casual.

I now have a week to find one possibly two more suits to fit my slender size 20 frame. Went to M&S yesterday - dullsville. Would really like a smart charcoal suit where I could buy a skirt, trousers and jacket all matching.

Somebody please help this pathetic style moron

I went to Next yesterday but only saw linen suits and scrunched up shirts

Do Principles really do size 20?

Next is the place for not too expensive suits that don't look too cheap. Their suits are much better than M&S. They do up to size 20 (Principles not so good on sizes above 14/16).

Next branches seem to vary a lot in what they stock, both in sizes and in type of clothes, some do lots more work clothers, other lots more of the going out stuff or more casual things, don't know where you are but it might be worth checking on their website where they show the full range of what they stock. (I haven't had to buy a suit in a long time so I can't think beyond that).

I've had a look at the Next website and I can't really work out what kind of shape everything is! Because I'm not a standard size, I have difficulty visualising how something's going to look on me when I can only see a small fuzzy picture on a size 10 model!

Any tips for website clothes shopping?

MMJ - your link didn't work for me

Have you had a look in Dot Perkins?

They're not bad for suits and go up to a size 22 (not suggesting you'll need that, but I'm supposedly a size 16 and have to buy 18 in there!) Their website is here and they have several items to match your description of jacket/trews/skirt.

Hth!

Thanks for the tip re DPs Lovecat - will have a look now

MMJ - link to M&S site didn't work rather than i didn't like the suit! I tried accessing site through Google but that didn't work either so I guess something's up with it...

We DO have a Next Clearance shop near us - usually only look at children's section but will try women's...

Dorothy perkins my dear. You will only be a size 18 in there to boot!
