This dress, for a friends wedding? Is it okay? But as 5ft 2” hobbit, is it even possible?

It’s very pretty. I’m 5’ 9” and find Phase Eight dresses usually end not far above my knees. You might need to have it taken up a bit.

PaperdollCartoon · 03/02/2018 00:06

It’s lovely. I’m also 5”2 and curvy and I’d wear it. It’ll probably hit just under the knee which is very flattering and you can always get it taken up a bit if needed. Get some good heels though, your legs will look fab x

I think it looks like it might swamp you but someone could adjust it if you can’t (I wouldn’t have a clue, but i wonder if the waist will sit in the right place on you?).
Lovely pretty dress though, try it on and see :)

I’m sure it would need altered, and the more I think of it, I’m not sure it could be altered enough that it wouldn’t look like a different dress. All I can do is buy it and see. I’d need to get recommendations of a very good seamstress.

Definitely have a go with it on.
The thing is, as you’re quite petite I think the length could end up making it look quite frumpy which is absolutely isn’t, the dress is beautiful. A good seamstress will be able to work wonders if you try it and it doesn’t sit quite right.

I saw this in the shop window today, it's lovely. You'd need to wear high heels but it shouldn't need taking up - I'm 5'3 and midi length (which I think this would be) is fine with heels. Just make sure it's a slim fit (anything loose just looks like a sack at midi length on us shortarses).

I'm 5'3 and wear a lot of Phase Eight. The length is always fine on me (just below knee). Depending on the material I find that I always need to go for a smaller rather than larger size (I'm between 10 and 12 and wear a 10 at Phase Eight). That might be helpful if you are ordering online rather than trying in store.

That's really annoying Fivepies as I've just bought a Phase Eight in a size up because they didn't have my size in stock.

DontDIY · 03/02/2018 20:11

Thanks fivepies. That’s helpful. I’ll go for a 10 probably. With some titanium belly warmers underneath

Sorry, should have added that I think it's a beautiful dress Don't - let us know what it looks like on.
