Do smocks just not suit them or are these ones just too long?

They are incredibly skinny....

I need solutions that I can fix tonight they were supposed to be wearing these for their party tomorrow....Tescos did have some shorter smocks, will these help or are they just not built for smocks?

Off to have tea but will be back soon for comments

nappyaddict · 27/04/2007 23:48

i like the ra ra skirts best out of the 3 pictures. don't know what the new smocks are like though. what colour are they?

pickledpear · 27/04/2007 23:49

put a belt in the middle or tie a scarf round waist at angle even roll up a sarong

SlightlyMadSuperhero · 27/04/2007 23:50

They are pink (with a hint of coral) - but not quite as bright as the super long smocks

no its not like anyone can see their face as i know some people worry about that.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2007 23:52

just had an idea. they could wear the smocks over jeans or cropped jeans?

SlightlyMadSuperhero · 27/04/2007 23:52

Anyway. I must go to bed. I fear tomorrow will be a long day.

Yeah I said jeans were my back-up. Don't have any cropped jeans so it will have to be full length (i.e. 2" too short!!!)

was thinking if they have something more bulky over their legs they wouldn't seem as baggy iyswim.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2007 23:54

tomorrow if you can get pictures of them with the smocks with leggings and with the jeans. then we will be your jury!

SlightlyMadSuperhero · 27/04/2007 23:56

Won't have time to get a pic on before we go (probably won't even get PC turned on) - so I will have to use my own judgement. I have DN coming over too who is good with this sort of thing (can't you tell I'm not ).

lol!!

SlightlyMadSuperhero · 28/04/2007 08:19

Short smock perfect length (I think) - just below non existant hips.

PC on as I have printed the wrong directions !!!

so did they have fun?

bozza · 28/04/2007 20:56

I hope you got it sorted. My DD is 3 in a fortnight and fits very well into 9-12 month pinafore dresses, but they are obviously too short. In fact I have been able to use one of her baby dresses as a tunic to wear with a pair of leggings.

SlightlyMadSuperhero · 28/04/2007 21:31

Yes they had a great time. One had a tantrum when it was time to come home . I am EXHAUSTED looking after 8 children for 6 hours.

Oh and when SIL (who has fashion sense) saw them the first thing she said was "I love those tops - where did you get them?"
