Am a bit bored of my hair-What other colour hair would suit me?

I’ve been bleaching and toning my hair silver for years. I’ve tried dark it just doesn’t suit me, my natural colour is I think what might be unkindly termed ‘rat brown’ it doesn’t suit me at all my alnatiral colour I just look Utterly drab.
So I love the blonde but I’ve had it so long and am toying with a coppery red? BUt when we I have my hair bleached and it’s in that pre toner stage and it’s a bit yellow it looks SHOCKING, the yellow tones look horrific and make my face look kind of pink?? So is going coppery red going to look appalling or good against my skin tone?

I just think jet black or blue black would suit you so muchGrin

franktheskank · 21/01/2018 15:59

I can't see coppery red looking good but there's only one way to see! At least if it looks bad you could dye it black to cover it Grin

MrsBungle · 21/01/2018 16:00

I think you’d look fab with coppery red hair. Would you mind telling me what toner you use for your hair currently? I love your colour.

Kenworthington · 21/01/2018 16:05

Haha frank- I do NOT look good with black hair. I look like a crow has died on my head.Grin

MrsBungle- I just use bleach London silver shampoo and conditioner. I leave it on a while every time I wash it Smile

Totally unhelpful but I love your look as it is Grin otherwise bright orange, use the bleach London one as a test cause it washes out a treat

prettywhiteguitar · 21/01/2018 16:10

I thought pink would suit me, turns my face yellow...looked like a Simpson.

Kenworthington · 21/01/2018 16:13

I’ve used their awkward peach which was actually lovely but it was super pale and washed out in one wash Confused

Can I be really nosy and ask your age? Tell me to naff off tho if you'd really rather not say.

I think your hair colour is fab but if anything, it's perhaps just a tiny smidge too grey. Only a tidge tho. Have you seen the Guy Tang colours? Rose gold is fabulous!

DotCottonDotCom · 21/01/2018 16:23

Kenworthington bleach London is genuinely one of the poorest pigmented colours out there so it’s no wonder the peach flushed out your hair.

it might be worth diluting something with condition from manic panic , directions or Arctic Fox

Scoleah · 21/01/2018 16:24

Your hair really suits you that colour! Looks lovely!

Scoleah · 21/01/2018 16:25

Maybe just try different coloured toners and see what works

demirose87 · 21/01/2018 16:26

I think a darkish red, but I think your colour now also suits you.

Frankiewears · 21/01/2018 16:32

Bright red, purple or magenta would work well with your colouring.

Frankiewears · 21/01/2018 16:36

This one works well over bleach and fades relatively slowly.

Kenworthington · 21/01/2018 16:38

Fosterdog you certainly can, I’m 42
(I’m also the one who started the thread about ‘style’- I’m the 6th form drama teacher op Grin
Hmm I’m erring towards leaving it as it is now, not least because I have a few greys coming through which I don’t mind at all and eventually I want to let the grey through as my colour and it’s easier this way! Golden yellows blonde doesn’t suit me at all! But also you’ve all been really nice about the colour and now I have the fear that I might ruin the silver Blush

Well you look fabulous. Could easily pass for your 30s.

Battleax · 21/01/2018 17:43

How about blue?

Ikeameatballs · 21/01/2018 17:44

I think shades of pale purple and blue would look great.

StrictlySnow · 21/01/2018 17:46

I love it now really would keep it as is

ClemFandango11 · 21/01/2018 17:53

Pastel blue?

DotCottonDotCom · 21/01/2018 17:57

Honestly I love your hair as it is, you are totally owning it

Joinourclub · 21/01/2018 17:57

I agree that a bit more blue/ purple tones would look great. Also a more blunt cut.

I went from bleached blonde which I have had from 17 to 56 to nearly black and I love it. My hair was in such bad condition with the bleach and now it's shiny and thicker and feels like I actually have real hair. I used Olia 4.0 dark brown and it's really good lots of natural oils in it. I redone the colour every 8 weeks and I will def not go back to blonde wish I had done it years ago.
