Wedding Dress opinion?

Hi Everyone!

Could you give me your 'honest' opinion about this dress? It's from a 2005 range, so a bit dated .. would just really appreciate peoples opinion. Please don't think you'll offend, I would much rather someone was brutally honest!

I'm not keen, sorry

Wilburissomepig · 21/01/2018 09:09

I think it’s your wedding, your day, your dress and if you love it then wear it. You’ll regret it otherwise.

Absolutely right. That dress may not be for me, but it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you feel amazing in it, you'll look amazing in it.

JollyJuniper · 21/01/2018 09:13

I think the top is ok but the pickups are really dated. Id it was me id get a seamstress to remake the skirt.

Bridechilla · 21/01/2018 09:26

I have seen this style look gorgeous and equally like a bag of flumps. I really think it depends on how the bride styles it. It's an unusual dress in that it looks quite simple but there's actually quite a lot going on.

You could bring it up to date with really classic and understated styling and accessories (for want of a better example think recent royals brides).

IMO it tends to look bad when brides see the plain bodice as an opportunity go ham on the bling; big tiara, glitzy jewellery, mega veil and princess hair ringlets. Just too much.

If you're still not comfortable, maybe take it to a seamstress.

MagicFajita · 21/01/2018 09:27

As others have said op , if you feel fantastic in it then you should wear it. If you're not sure then you should keep looking.

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 21/01/2018 09:30

Curtains, and old fashioned curtains at that.

specialsubject · 21/01/2018 10:22

Strapless shiny satin. Not good.

BatFaceGal · 21/01/2018 11:13

I quite like it

Dowser · 21/01/2018 12:29

I don’t like the dress at all but you have a lovely figure and you compliment the dress.
Personally I think you could find something much nicer without spending a fortune.

Did you particularly want a big dress?

Poppyfields21 · 11/02/2018 16:37

OP have you tried David’s bridal?

Chattette1 · 11/02/2018 16:49

Honestly I'd say dated and old fashioned. I don't like the ruching on the skirt.

BumbleNova · 11/02/2018 16:52

Very dated! You can find something better OP. Its an 80s throwback.

Mulberrysilk · 11/02/2018 17:30

Austrian blinds. Sorry.

EarlGreyT · 11/02/2018 18:27

Sorry, I think it’s awful too. The bottom half looks like Austrian blinds (I was already going to say that before I read mulberrysilk’s post) and the top half is boring.

I don’t think strapless dresses are flattering on the vast vast majority of people despite them being ubiquitous.

I’m sorry, but you asked for brutally honest and also the most important thing is that you love whatever dress you choose and that you feel great in it.

itsbetterthanabox · 11/02/2018 18:51

I think something else would be better.
I don't like pickups at all or strapless on most people plus shiny fabric photographs badly
