Beautiful shoes or boots that are comfortable as Skechers Go Walk

Please, style and beauty gurus, am I looking for something that doesn't exist? It's my aim in life to have comfortable feet that are still stylish. I wear Skechers Go walks for work and they really are the most comfortable shoes ever but they're blooming ugly. Anyone got any ideas as to alternatives which are comfy for wearing and walking all day but which look good?

i also love my Sketchers but like Gabor. Very nice quality and a large range of styles.

goose1964 · 20/01/2018 18:31

Reiker, I have a pair of wedges and they are comfy and nice looking

RedMugMadeLocally · 06/04/2018 20:22

See if you can get to one of the bigger shops. I was really surprised that they had lots of sandals that didn't look too grannyish.

SilverHairedCat · 06/04/2018 20:24

Crocs. Some of their designs are actually attractive and are unbelievably comfortable!

I love my sketchers go walks but I recently bought a pair of heeled boots from h and m. They are the comfiest boots I have ever worn. Yesterday I was supposed to be going out for my birthday meal but on the way ended up on a farmyard woodland walk (as you do when you have a 3 and 1 year old). They got muddy but they didn’t hurt a tiny bit and were comfortable to walk all day in.

I always say this, but Isabel Marants. Beautifully made, comfy (unless you go for the really high heels of course) and last for ever.

Wolfiefan · 06/04/2018 20:32

Watching with interest. I think my plantar fasciitis is coming back. My feet hurt. All the time.

RedMugMadeLocally · 06/04/2018 23:05

Wolfie Sketchers are your friend. On dog walks I use Dublin Country boots which are also very good.

Follyfoot · 06/04/2018 23:17

Heavenly Feet are really comfy - anything you like of theirs?

tutu112 · 07/04/2018 17:26

Your boots sound great, LovelyBranches. Do you have a link please? For comfort, I rate Geox. I have a pair of navy Geox heels I bought years ago that are really comfy. And Clarks aren't bad either. But I think you'd be hard pushed to replicate that marshmallowy, walking on clouds feeling you get from the Go Walks.

I recently bought a pair of red baker courts - and so far so good! I'm wearing them tonight for the first 'proper' wear but have worn them for an hour or so around the house and there's definitely a difference between them and other cheaper high heels I've worn.

Alwaysrushingaround · 07/04/2018 18:16

Ted! Not red!

BadTasteFlump · 07/04/2018 19:13

Watching with interest as I'm going to Disneyland this summer and last time I went I suffered with the most horribly painful disney feet...

I've tried Go Walks on and they are super comfy, but looked awful and I'm also wary of anything synthetic because my summer shoes always get stinky.

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 07/04/2018 19:20

Heavenly feet. I live in my boots and they are so comfy. They do loads of different styles.

elefunk · 07/04/2018 19:20

@greenlanes I was going to say gabor too!

I've had a pair of their boots for nearly 4 years now, I wear them regularly.

Bpickle1 · 07/04/2018 19:25

Ecco shoes are so comfy and they have some stylish shoes in beautiful leather too , might be worth a look Smile

MCSpammer · 07/04/2018 19:30

Crocs ? No

OCSockOrphanage · 07/04/2018 20:19

Ecco, Think, Arche, Mephisto, Geox are all worth a look, but not all the styles from all of them are beautiful and stylish as well as comfortable. None is cheap. And I add Fit Flops, which are extremely comfortable to wear, with some good casual styles, especially for summer sneakers.

chalkyc2 · 07/04/2018 20:25

Fit flops - but you have to be very picky about the styles - or someone in here recommended vionic shoes which I am yet to invest in but some nice styles....eg www.vionicshoes.co.uk/women/casual-sneakers/edie.html

Ooh thanks. I've just seen this question has resurrected itself. I'm off to google!

@BadTasteFlump go walks respond very well to the washing machine and dry really quickly, which might help.

Dlpdep · 08/04/2018 09:26

I dunno. I have a pair of the go walks that look like ballet flats, as they aren’t AS ugly. They bring me out in a blister under my big toe (not sure that I’m not allergic to whatever material is in them), stink to high heaven if I wear them without socks and the washing machine does nothing for them.

I brought them and a pair of Addidas gazelles to Disneyland. Took off the sketchers before lunch the first day and wore the gazelles for the rest of the holiday.

BadTasteFlump · 08/04/2018 15:30

Ooh @Dlpdep I've just ordered some Gazelles - they look really nice and were £36 on the Adidas Outlet site - fingers crossed they fit - thanks for the tip!

MrsHoneysHat · 08/04/2018 15:36

My crocs are lovely - i've had loads of compliments on them from the young and trendy and they dont believe me when i tell them they're crocs. They saw me round disneyworld too.
