Recommend for me: a nice men's waterproof backpack (for commuting on bike with laptop)

Just that really. Needed for carrying laptop and bits of groceries but doesn't need to be a huge, just comfy and vaguely smart/nice-looking if possible!

I commute by bike and have to carry my work laptop to and from the office. I use a fjallraven kanken, which is just the right size for a laptop in the back compartment and fits my lunch, clothes for work and groceries at a push. They do a specialist laptop version which has a bit of extra padding and a big version too. I wouldn't say it's 100% waterproof but I cycle in the rain and nothing's been ruined yet!

After 4 years mine's now on its last legs so I'd be interested to see what others suggest!

I have a laptop Kanken. They do smarter black ones too. It's not completely waterproof though but manageable. When looking, I found a lot of the smarter ones had uncomfortable straps and a lot of the laptop-specific ones had too much padding, so this was the best compromise.

I like Fastrider bike bags. They're Dutch and are available from various places online.

Otherwise Ortlieb make the best waterproof bags.

Properly waterproof for the bike - Ortlieb are probably the best and last ages. I love my Kankens but they are not properly waterproof, I always stick stuff in a plastic bag if it's pouring down. Rains also do proper waterproof bags that I think are really stylish if you like that Scandi minimalism. If you've got the £££ and want the style, Rapha www.rapha.cc/gb/en/search?text=Bag

Personally, I'd really recommend a pannier from Ortlieb. It's just so much more comfortable than cycling with it on your back if carrying more than just ride essentials! www.rutlandcycling.com/ortlieb

Thanks all. Needs to be a rucksack type thing really as can't go cross-body and needs to be carried on the tube as well!
Quite like the crumpler ones. Can't believe how much you can pay for a backpack though!

Dakine have a brilliant range. The 20l+ ones have a padded laptop section. I think they are waterproof too. I used to cycle with one anyway.
