I wanna get one. Love em for their pure seventies retro-ness. But I'm only 5 foot 3, size 12, am i avin a laugh or should I go for it? Any advice gratefully received.

Have you seen any nice ones that aren't wildy expensive. I've only seen pics of designer ones. Not sure re: height and suitability but I agree that they are quite enchanting.

Tiptoppop · 25/04/2007 22:00

NFK, yep they are gracing the rails of our trusty Top Shop, Miss Selfridges et al. Am yet to try one on but I will tomorrow and report back. I am thinking halter neck and that kinda up and downy type hem line. (not sure what it's called)

NKF · 25/04/2007 22:01

Topshop here I come. Do you think flouced hems are OTT. I think you mean asymetrical hemline.

NKF · 25/04/2007 22:01

That was meant to read "flounced"

Croaky · 25/04/2007 22:33

Oooh I think you are right, it IS asymeterical. Now I know the lingo I feel a lot more focused! Cheer NK.

Tried on a maxi frock in Miss Selfridge, aysemetric, halter neck and overall tres stylish and flattering. Although I must admit I did not part with my cash - will wait til I chance upon the perfect maxi.

I looked at the Topshop website. Very nice frocks. But I can't get to the right shops until Saturday.

Croaky · 26/04/2007 14:58

Do it NK! Get maxed up! x

cheeryface · 26/04/2007 15:02

i just asked the same questin croaky. i am 5ft 1. don't want one that covers my feet!

Croaky · 26/04/2007 17:56

Hmm yes Cheery, I hear what you're saying. But I'm sure some of the high street petite ranges may be in on the look soon. Otherwise will simply have it taken up I guess (I don't do needle and thread!)

go for it, and wear it with wedges or flatties.

twobabies · 26/04/2007 18:29

Blatant thread hijack here, but does anyone think they will look ok as maternity wear? I just got the primark one off ebay (will be interested to see what it's like as I have never had anything from primark before) and it's elasticated above and just below the bump, not sure how to do link sorry! so I don't think it will be restrictive or tight at all, in fact I am imagining myself barefoot and pregnant in long floaty dress or am I just going to look like i've popped into millets and put on a flowery tent?????

twobabies · 26/04/2007 18:29

Meant to say above and below the BUST doh

hermykne · 26/04/2007 20:58

twobabies
i'm sure you'll look blooming!

honestly fabulous!

twobabies · 26/04/2007 21:18

Yay for me, I love those maxi dresses they are fab and seeming as how being pregnant I will be missing out on skinny jeans, mini dresses and any kind of flattering swimwear this summer this is something I can participate in!!
