flat peep-toed shoes? nice or hideous?

dh just looked at my new shoes and said "are they yours or did your mum leave them here?" . I had thought they were lovely. Now he's thrown me into the depths of self doubt. I hesitate to show you the picture as they don;t look great. you MUST ignore the brown. mine are green. have I made a truly awful mistake . I have haven't I?

she probably means that moccasins, gatheredness, grosgrain ribbon and bows etc are in fashion but are nevertheless vile. something you could get away with if you're a lissom 15-year-old, but too weedily on-trend for a grown woman. imho.
