I'm sure this has been done to death but - how do I build a capsule wardrobe?

I am a 37 yo sahm, but am starting college in September and university next year to pursue a professional career (social work). I currently have a part time job as a support worker (no uniform required).

I am still losing weight after giving birth a year ago, so don't want to spend very much, but I'd like to look sort of casually professional if that exists?! Currently a size 14, pear shaped.

I like to wear simple clothes like button down shirts, straight legged jeans, canvas pumps. I'm wanting to wear more polished footwear like brogues or Chelsea boots but don't know what would "go" with those sorts of shoes. I'm very, very tired of my t-shirts and jeans look.

Is there a website that I can use to help me get a visualisation of what I might like to wear?

I'd like to have a small rotation of items for college and work, that I can build upon as I venture into a more professional sphere. Thanks!

There's a French designer called , she's done a couple of Youtube videos on this. AFAIK she also recommends a couple of other people who have also done good videos.

That's great, thanks! I didn't consider YouTube. /oldgimmer

Haha... we're practically the same age! I only figured out how to follow Youtube channels about 6 months ago, myself...

I'm found this blog really helpful with tons of info on if you look at past posts

I don't pay to to the 'challenge' but the posts and ideas of her capsule wardrobe are useful.

That's great, Bailey, I like her style too. :)

Lego I keep finding myself muttering about things "back in my day" and have to mentally slap myself! That Justine woman is lovely, isn't she?

I've already bought some Chelsea boots on eBay today (and two pairs of Converse hightops, but hey ho!) so I'm at least starting.
