Too bridal for a wedding?

I’m attending two weddings in the spring and have been given Phase Eight vouchers for Christmas. One is a full day invite - small church and local (posh) pub reception , the other is evening only but at a very exclusive hotel.

First dress is not suitable in my opinion, second one is nice but the tape work one linked after the red one is gorgeous!

I think that first dress is beautiful and can't see how it can be 'bridal'. I'm yet to ever see a bride in a knee length pencil skirt. As for MOTB, well that's nonsense because they could be wearing anything and would anyway most likely have a matching jacket.
