Summer school uniform, red gingham pedal pushers. WHERE?

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:06

Where can I find these? We've seen children at school in them and they got then in H+M a few years ago.

Tried googling them and NEXT, PUMPKIN PATCH, M+S, ADAMS, WOOLIES.

Please help. My neighbour is desperate!!!

what an odd thing to have on the uniform

have never seen them

DumbledoresGirl · 24/04/2007 11:07

Is this school uniform?

If it is, ask the school who supplies their uniform, or they may even supply it themselves.

WigWamBam · 24/04/2007 11:08

Pedal pushers? As part of a school uniform?

You are joking?

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:08

Neighbour has asked and they said 'dont know'

Its on the uniform list.

They look really cute.

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:09

No not joking. They are made out of the same material as the summer school dresses. They are worn with polo shirts.

Makes a change.

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:10

Wow nbg. We couldn't find them. She's very excited.

Nbg · 24/04/2007 11:11

lol, just hope theres the size she needs there!

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:13

There is. 2 days to go though. She's all worried she'll miss out.

Nbg · 24/04/2007 11:15

Oh good!
Tbh I douby something like that would be snapped up.

WigWamBam · 24/04/2007 11:17

I wouldn't think too many people would be after them - certainly not if they're looking for school uniform, as most schools don't have such a relaxed unform policy.

Dd would be sent home to change if I sent her in wearing those because the school would say that they are "fashion" clothes, not school clothes. And they're not overly strict on uniform.

harpsichordcarrier · 24/04/2007 11:18

I think they look great!

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 11:50

Me too! Its the H+M pair.

We looked on ebay but typed in 'school' something rather than just gingam trousers. They didn't come up.

I've got to bid for as she'll be at work. Pressure!!

I said she should buy some red gingham material and get someone to make her some.

She said to me 'ask on mumsnet' in a jokey way not really thinking that would work. She knows I'm always on here! I'm glad you found them. It proved how fab mn is at finding things.

(NB harpsi, could you suggest these instead of the cycling shorts for your great uniform debate?)

princessCROComel · 24/04/2007 12:03

I agree that they are different but surely they're ok on little girls. She's 5. In the infants.

Also some people don't like girls climbing in dresses cos of the knickers-on-show business and also as it can be restricting. I'm not really bothered by that by some people are.

And they are summery and cute.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 24/04/2007 16:17

Dd's five as well.

They'd still send her home if she wore them to school, even if she did look cute!

I hope she wins them.

princessmel · 25/04/2007 12:47

I'm getting ready to bid now!!

stringbean · 25/04/2007 14:55

I've seen red and white gingham pedal pushers in H&M - I saw them this morning. I was looking for dd, and she's 2, so they must be in the 1-8 age category. They have a gathered bit round the knee and a small 'frill' of material below, so they perhaps look a bit more like knickerbockers, rather than pedal pushers, iyswim. Worth going and having a look.

princessmel · 25/04/2007 16:26

Ooooh thats interesting , I'll tell my neighbour. We lost out this morning. She was gutted.

hana · 25/04/2007 16:29

would love those for dd
she is always falling down and grazing her knees in her summer dress and her grey trousers just are too hot in the warm weather
hmmm
might have to shout out ath next pta meeting...

princessmel · 25/04/2007 16:35

Just told her. She's going now!!!

princessmel · 25/04/2007 16:36

Good idea Hana

princessmel · 25/04/2007 16:37

She says 'thanks' stringbean.

princessmel · 25/04/2007 17:28

They only red pink or brown, no red.

Which H+M was it?

princessmel · 25/04/2007 17:48

I meant they only had pink or brown.
