Is there such a tool that can help transform thin, straight, fine hair into wavy voluminous beachy
trusses ?!

I know it's a marmite product the but the Babyliss Curl Secret gives my hair gorgeous bouncy curls that don't drop. It won't work for everyone, though, so it's possibly better to ask about and see if anyone has one you can loan for a little try-out.

I've got a babyliss wave envy which was only about £30 from boots. It's like a big crimper which I found really easy to use and it made my fine bobbed hair wavy without dropping. Have a look at people with your hair type and length using it on YouTube.

Thank you. I just cannot get the straightener technique !

The Babyliss smooth and wave is getting good reviews!

QVC sell it!

PavlovaPlease · 01/01/2018 22:10

My hairdresser gave me a quick lesson using ghds - life changer! I'd tried before but was doing it all wrong!

CatAnnoyance · 01/01/2018 22:13

Yes to the Babyliss Smooth n Wave. I got one for Christmas and it's fab. I've got shitty fine hair that I can't do anything with, but the waves lasted all day after my first attempt this morning. Spot on.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 01/01/2018 22:20

Any pics from these wonderful devices?

CatAnnoyance · 01/01/2018 22:33

Shit photo and it was my first time using the smooth and wave so I am sure I'll get better with practise Grin

I really recommend the Toni and Guy Style Fix Waver.
My hair is awful, a bit frizzy, bouncy curls or waves never hold. I got the Style Fixer a few months ago and it's amazing! Creates 'beachy waves' rather than curls, so easy to use and creates waves that last!
You can get them from Argos etc.

Tantpoke · 02/01/2018 15:35

I have the babyliss curl secret and I use KMS California dry wax to hold the curls otherwise they drop out really quickly on my straight hair. The dry wax holds them in for days even after sleeping.

My hairdresser showed me how to use it properly and you should do the curls from half way down your head as opposed from the very top for Filmstar curls and run your fingers through for a less tight curl before fixing them

finnmcool · 02/01/2018 15:41

It's not a product. If you twist your hair in sections, to the point they turn into little knots when its damp and secure with hairbands and either leave overnight or use a hairdryer on high heat, low blast, you will get beachy wav

finnmcool · 02/01/2018 15:42

Keep your roots loose though, otherwise your hair will be flat on top.

minipie · 02/01/2018 15:50

Thanks for this thread, just what I need too! Need something to turn my boring flat straight day hair into more glam evening hair, in 5 minutes after dc are in bed!

Smooth and wave or the Toni and guy one sound good

minipie · 02/01/2018 15:51

Yes I've read curls or waves work better if you use dry shampoo first

user1469573918 · 02/01/2018 16:27

Love my babyliss heated rollers
Dead straight hair
Doesn't work great on just washed hair
You just leave them in for a half hour and it gives a nice bit of body

Chicinwellies · 02/01/2018 17:05

How funny. I just had a look at top reviewed and the T&G one gets fab reviews. For £20 I’ll be trying that before the new Babyliss one, and thanks all for the replies.
