gold velvet dress + blonde hair - yay or nay?

Quite fancy a gold velvet wrap type of dress in the sales, but I have natural blonde hair and tend to avoid yellow because it's a bit of a weird clash - does gold count?

I think if your skin tone can pull it off then go got it. I need gold to be a bit bronzey for it to work with my colouring.

A lot depends on the shade of gold. I need a pic.

If you love it, go for it. Perhaps use a teeny teeny dusting of bronzer to warm up your skin a little.

thanks for the tip!

I honestly don't think it'll work (I'm same skin tone and hair colour as you), I think it could make you look sallow.

Gold is opulent. Velvet is opulent. I think that both in the one dress is too much going on. Maybe best to try it on. You'll know if it works as soon as you see it on.

yes its super opulent! Have ordered, can always return if it looks weird...

I think it sounds nice.

TheChampagneGalop · 30/12/2017 17:11

I'm sure you will look lovely in it.

Gold and velvet together is pretty appealing to me. But then I do wear gold lamé, mustard velvet etc. I just love rich colours and textures together.

I think it looks lovely OP. Let us know how you get on!

it's here, and it's a bit baggy on the bust which can probably be altered, I think it'll be all in the accessories as to whether it looks nice or a bit...the only way is essex lol!
