Long black cardigan - what to wear it with?

I have bought a cashmere mix long black tie front cardigan in the sales, mainly because it is really soft and was a bargain. But I'm now wondering whether to keep it as I don't know how often I'll wear it.

What could I wear it with? Could I use it instead of a coat if it isn't raining?

I'm pretty average height and build (5'6", size 14), will it drown me or make me look like a bag lady?

Help me decide please!

I have a cashmere one - a bargain in a sale. I am shorter than you at 5 foot and so quite long on me but I use mine

• great for travelling . Planes can be quite cold
• looks great with tunic or dressin winter with thick black tights

-wear with jeans or slouchy merino pants

• can use instead dressing gown

Mine is definitely a keeper!
