Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - what does it actually do and is it any good?

Am thinking about saving up and treating myself to some new make-up / beauty products.

Have heard good stuff about this - is it true?

TIA

It is wonderful.
A temporary cosmetic facelift - but won't irritate sensitive skin, well not mine anyway.
Smells lovely too.

piglit · 23/04/2007 15:24

It's very good. Gives your skin a real boost and a bit of a glow. Agree with Marina about sensitive skin.

ceolas · 23/04/2007 15:25

It does have a fantastic reputation, but I haven't noticed a remarkable difference when I've used it.

Maybe I'm too far beyond repair?

Piffle · 23/04/2007 15:25

not sure how it does it but godsend for tired skin

JonesTheSteam · 23/04/2007 15:27

Does it make it appear smoother?

snap ceolas, are you supposed to use it every day? or just special occasions.

I must admit I bought mine off ebay so I suppose it could just be a copy

Marina · 23/04/2007 15:42

Yes it smoothes Jones, and tightens slightly. Best not used every day - I think they say this on the packaging.
Wait til Clarins are doing a promotion and blag yourself a small free sample. It doesn't suit everyone.

krabbiepatty · 23/04/2007 15:44

Freeze 24/7 for a more radical result at a hefty price...

InTheseShoes · 23/04/2007 16:46

I have no idea how it works. Only that people always comment on how well I am looking when I have it on. I think there might be some light reflecting properties as well as toning/tightening things going on.

It's often part of a Clarins Bonus Time if you are ever buying anything else.

ArcticRoll · 23/04/2007 21:08

Yes I love it.
Also they do one for eyes which helps my hideous bags.
I don't think you're meant to use it every day.
Some people claim that piles cream is a cheaper alternative but I've never tried it!

newgirl · 23/04/2007 22:01

do you put anything over it? i tend to dab my nose with a bit of powder in the morning

or moisturiser under it?

rollonsummerholidays · 23/04/2007 22:24

good gives you a glow but not the tan kind it is magic.

BigHotMama · 23/04/2007 22:26

I use it over moisturiser and under foundation, makes your face feel tighter and brighter imo. You can also use it as a face mask I think. Only use it when feel like my skinneeds a boost quickly.

Lol arctic at the piles cream

Idreamofdaleks · 24/04/2007 17:24

I always wear it under foundation - why shouldn't you wear it everyday I wonder?

newgirl · 25/04/2007 10:25

ive tried it today - face feels a bit sticky but has a certain 'glow' about it!! or is that sweat from rushing to school?!

bakedpotato · 25/04/2007 10:29

I only use it as spackle, and would love to know what happens if you use it as a proper face mask?
I've never dared (scared to waste this precious elixir)
It it worth it?

newgirl · 25/04/2007 18:05

def says use a face mask on tube - not sure how much different it is for leaving it on your face all day under make up?

CoffeeCrazedMama · 25/04/2007 18:41

I love this too - seems to act as a good 'gripper' for foundation. Stops it sliding right off my face as it usually does. Only use for special occasions though as was warned not to wear more than a few days in a row - this has scared me into thinking my skin will either stop responding as wonderfully or worse it will damage it in some way with too much of the wonderful 'tightening' effect and I will be left with a saggy face! But always wheel it out if I have to look glam. Got loads of it as whenever there is a Clarins promotion small tubes of it seem to be included in the 'gift'. And because of not using it every day it lasts forever.

One of my 8 yr old DD's (male) classmates told her the other day that I look 16, I had Beauty Flash Balm on, so I totally recommend it to everyone!!!!!!!
