Spied some Sanctuary under the tree too (opening other presents when rest of the family arrives)

DP got me a few lovely S&B bits: a Hush grey sweater with Amour written on in yellow, lovely earrings and a bracelet from Whistles, a Chanel make-up brush and a Jo Malone candle in macaroon and almond which smells divine. The most stylish pressie by far is a light pink fisherman’s rib jumper but it’s so itchy... but it looks so good... might have to go back but I’m sad about this.

Santa did good!

Ooh, dh got me a tom Ford eyeshadow quad & a lipstick-the quad is in colours which I wouldn't use so I'm even more delighted as it means I get to return it-the lippy might be good but can't tell from the online swatches & won't open it as want to try the tester first!

Also a mont blanc silver necklace & some Molton brown shower gel & a wee jo malone candle from secret Santa-fab!

I got a lovely sweater from Urban Outfitters, Marc Jacobs Dream Forever perfume, a dressing gown, some real techniques make up brushes and a handbag.

I also got some H&M vouchers which I was contemplating spending tomorrow but I don't think I can face the Boxing Day crowds. I might just rip into the cheese and spend them online instead.

A lovely necklace with a bee on it and a ring that looks like a snowflake (tiny sparkly diamonds) - plus Aveda shampoo/conditioner and some Neals Yard stuff

DH gave me some money to spend on make up in Boots which i got before Christmas & wrapped up. But he surprised me today by buying me some Aussie shampoo & conditioners that came with a free bobble hat (very nice) and also 2 packs of real technique brushes :)

Some nuxe skincare from my mummy, some bubble bath stuff from dd2, a glittery striped jumper from dd2 and some Adidas high tops and uniqlo thermal joggers from dh who loves a sexy look

Not 100% sold on the colour of the high tops - they are taupe which I thought would be a bit of a funky neutral colour but is more mushroom than one would wish.

Christmas, for me, is increasingly about who’s round the true rather than what’s under it. I work with some of the most deprived in our society and Christmas excess makes me feel a little guilty.

That said, I’ve had some lovely gifts:
DH bought me some Modern Muse perfume, a book of a film we saw on TV recently (very thoughtful) and a cashmere beanie.
DC who are early teens bought me some beautiful chocolates.
My mum also gave me some thoughtful gifts - a framed art print of where I grew up and a locally made candle that claims to smell of the botanical gardens where I grew up. She also gave me a Whistles sweatshirt I saw and loved but didn’t buy for myself.

Aw, thanks everyone. While 2017 hasn't been immune from the usual life crap we all face, I do feel the last couple of years have been transformative. Pretty amazing NHS who put me back together again, physios who have cajoled, bullied and coaxed me to believe I could do things I didn't believe possible, and the amazing support from the women on the MN low carb bootcamp. My (adult) kids and DH have been wonderful as well. I think all four of us cried this morning!
