I am going to a sept wedding. Don't know what I'm wearing yet but am considering a white bag to carry all the kids stuff in. Would this be good?

It will get really dirty. I'd go for one with a summery print in colours to match your outfit.

newgirl · 23/04/2007 12:58

white very tricky - id go for print or natural/pale brown

MrsBadger · 23/04/2007 12:59

beige/cream/natural strawy colours much better IMO

and def not white shoes, please

mamatres · 23/04/2007 13:06

i think poss not great. i always like a naturl straw type affair for summer poss with wooden handles? accesorize or even H&M are normally good.

MrsBadger · 23/04/2007 14:06

though top left type might work.

cathcart · 23/04/2007 14:09

i had this dilemma last weekend. i did buy a white bag but it was white and straw, all the white leatherry ones did look a bit tacky i thougt. warehouse do a large white and straw one if you want it to carry all the kids stuff. Bhs had loads of white crochet type bags.

mamma2kids · 24/04/2007 12:40

Oh dear, I was thinking of white (fake) leather with buckles etc I keep seeing people with them. I want something reasonably smart as don't want to look like I'm off to the beach. The wedding is an all day affair and as DH is Best man, I'll be in charge of 4&2yr old so will need quite a bit of stuff. Quite like the Next one Mrs B.

UtterPigsty · 24/04/2007 12:47

voila

JackieNo · 24/04/2007 12:52

Very plain white shopping type bag might work?

mamma2kids · 24/04/2007 12:52

They look great. I really like the first one Jackie.

And Accessorise have some - I like the spot print one, and they do have a plain white one too.

expatinscotland · 24/04/2007 12:57

Tacky

JackieNo · 24/04/2007 12:59

But I think less tacky if it's a shopping type bag and not an actual handbag, which I would say is a bit tacky.

MrsBadger · 24/04/2007 12:59

mamma2kids, the phrase 'fake leather' tells you all you need to know re the tacky factor...

with a 2yo will you have a pushchair on hand to use as mission control ie sling all the kids' stuff in the basket and carry a smaller more legant bag yourself?

MrsBadger · 24/04/2007 13:00

(though I like the Laura Ashley one, Jackie)

newgirl · 25/04/2007 18:07

of course, you should get the anya handmarch bag that is mentioned on the other thread - start queuing now!!

mamma2kids · 26/04/2007 12:47

Oh dear I'm starting to think I am actually a bit tacky.
I wasn't going to take the buggy, but maybe that would be a good idea. I wonder if you can get white buggys?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 26/04/2007 12:49

(also a good place for the 2yo to snooze when it all gets too much...)

TeeCee · 26/04/2007 12:49

If you liek a bag and it happens to be white then go for it. Don't worry about anything else. Do you like it, doea it gow with wedding outfit, will you use it more than once, answer yes, to all then buy it.

mamma2kids · 27/04/2007 12:22

Thanks TC
