What do you think of Birkenstocks on men?

Article in Mail on Sunday supplement about birkies for men...what's your view? I am a huge fan of them and have several pairs, but I can't say I have ever seen a man wearing them! DH mentioned he would like some sort of dark brown mules for kicking around in the summer, and wearing with shorts. I reckon he'd look good in some birkenstocks, but are they a bit...well...girlie?! Thinking the dark brown rameses ones (classic ones) with the toe bit. What do you reckon??!

I don't think they are girlie on men at all. They look good I think as long as the foot in the shoe isn't an eyesore but that applies to all sandal wearing..

I wanted to get some for ds (4) but need to find a stockist to try on first.I think they're fine for men,the three strap ones in brown or black I trhink

no hairy toes and misshapen ex-footballers/squash player toes allowed either.

I think they're beyond naff.

The ones with 2 straps look OK on men, but have t agree they're not feminine. I'd only wear single strap Birkies myself.

i would rather see a bloke in birks than those terrible 'sports sandals'. (wtf?)

Better than wedges. They have trouble walking in them.

Would look lovely on my dp as he has nice feet, no fungal infections!!!

DH wears them with nice trendy long combat-style shorts. When I saw him pushing the pushchair in them I thought he looked very 'Primrose Hill' (although that may not be a compliment to everyone!!)
