Heavily pregnant with DC3 and essentially bed bound till he arrives. Not been an easy pregnancy.

Would like to treat myself to a nice piece of jewellery once he's here, to mark the occasion (he will be our last).

I sort of like the idea of having something with their initials on, or perhaps something engraved with their names. Not totally sold on this though.

Reasonable budget of up to £500 but happy to spend less!

If you had up to £500 to spend on a 'meaningful' piece, what would you go for?

I'm toying with getting a narrative pendant from Links of London with my DDs names on. I've seen them in the store and they are quite nice quality but very simple and plain. The smaller size range from £65 to about £85 for just the pendant, the chains add to the price. There are larger size pendants and bracelets in the narrative collection which you can also engrave. I think Links are currently offering free engraving if you order online but I would check first.

I would get the Tiffany infinity

Local independent jewellery shops might offer engraving options. For £500 you should be able to get good metal with it, like 18k gold or even platinum.

Hi, have you had a look at www.mercimamanboutique.com ?

They have different types of jewellery that can be engraved.

I'm not the biggest fan of Pandora but I absolutely love this - pandora family tree necklace.

I have this Tiffany bracelet and I would recommend one from there for a sentimental piece. They are classic and don’t date.

I've got stuff from all the brands above but my favourite shop is in York and it's called Azendi. The jewellry is just lovely (but the website is naff tbf) azendi.com/

I would go with a bracelet or bangle, they date less and could be worn forever. ( at any age ). On a bangle could have the inside engraved, or a disc charm engraved if it was a bracelet.

Sheila Fleet!! Beautiful, beautiful pieces.

Might not be to your taste as they are a bit unusual, but have a look at Marla Aaron. She makes beautiful lock clasps (and chains to go with them) in different sizes and shapes which can be engraved or you could get one with the baby's birthstone, the smaller sizes should be within budget. She is in the US but you can buy them at Browns in London or have them shipped worldwide. I'm currently trying to decide on one for myself, but I love so many of them it's hard to decide!

My DH bought me this when we found out we were having DC3. Uncharacteristically romantic for him! I love it...
