ds has got his first lesson today and i don't know what to wear. i only have bikinis and tankinis but then i thought maybe they are a bit skimpy and i should try and find out a swimming costume from somewhere. very trivial i know but i don't want to get it wrong!

what are tankinis?

Arriety · 22/04/2007 13:03

When I took DD1 loads of people wore those tankini things. V envious as I was still in a maternity swimsuit! And she was at least 4 months old!

nappyaddict · 22/04/2007 13:08

like a vest top and bottoms.

a tankini sounds fine.

princessCROComel · 22/04/2007 13:11

A tankini or a swimsuit. I have a plain ish one from M+S that I wear when I take the children swimming.

Lilymaid · 22/04/2007 13:11

I recommend taking a towelling robe that you can put on whilst drying ds. By the time you have finished drying him, you will be virtually dry too.

Chocolateface · 22/04/2007 13:11

Ha! I've just checked your profile page. Wear a bikini, if you don't have too many streatch marks. All the other mums will be soooo jealous. You're just the kind of great looking person I hope is not going to be at the baby swim class.

madoldcatlady · 22/04/2007 13:15

A nice tweed skirt and a twinset.

nappyaddict · 22/04/2007 13:16

i'll go with the tankini - i don't want the other mums to hate me. still a bit conscious of my jelly belly as well atm.

wear the bikini\tankini, people wear them to swimming classes and they look fab, as long as you feel confident in it , that's the main thing
You have the most photos i have ever seen on a profile page, good going

belgo · 22/04/2007 13:20

I always take a towelling robe for my DD2.

belgo · 22/04/2007 13:21

I've just been swimming with my girls, and there were some mothers wearing bikins who already have a tan. I was so , but I wouldn't hate them for it

MadamePlatypus · 22/04/2007 13:21

That will be fine - I only have bikinis and tankinis too. Usually you are holding your child infront of you or underwater anyway, so nobody can really see what you are wearing.

nappyaddict · 22/04/2007 13:22

i am so not looking forward to going underwater!!

don't go under water if you don't want to - lots of people are afraid of this.
