Is anyone still buying Boden anymore (obviously they are) but are you and what do you buy? I haven't found anything on their website for so long whereas a couple of years ago they were my go to. What happened?!

Can be a bit twee
The magalogue/catalogue makes stuff look fab often disappointed by the reality.
Their dresses generally fit me really well- petite hourglass- size 10 around 8.5 stone
Better quality on the whole than most of high street but still way over priced jersey dresses£99!!
They aren't the only ones guilty of over pricing though Whistles and Hush I am looking at you!!!

The thing I don't get about Boden (and I've been buying from them for 16 years) is that their kids' clothes are really good quality, but their ladies' clothes are utter shite.

Why is that?

CountFosco · 17/12/2017 08:50

Agree the petite stuff is good, I have a lot of Boden dresses and coats and they make the only cotton shirts that are flattering on me because they actually fit! Their basics in plain colours are good. I have work stuff from years ago that is still going strong (woollen wide legged trousers and coats). But that is partly why I've not bought stuff this year, everything they do well is still going strong.

I'm still buying from Boden, knitwear, trousers, shoes/boots, tops & t shirts, baby & toddler gifts. I don't get the hate on here but why a monthly thread anyway? If it's not your cup of tea or out of your price range don't buy it. I buy loads, it lasts ages and I don't own a single garish or highly patterned item of clothing from Boden or anywhere else.

I got that leopard print handbag too. l love, love love it. But full price it was £200 and the strap has gone already as the pin came out of the D ring. Hmm

I've stopped buying their women's clothes due to quality and durability issues. Also the cut of their dresses is awful for me - the waist sits one or two inches too high and makes me look frumpy and swamped by the skirt fabric.

Children's clothes is more hit and miss so I buy and sometimes return. Disappointingly I have found the boys clothes quality way better than the girls.

drspouse · 17/12/2017 09:03

Their jeans fit me and I find you have to keep buying once you discover jeans that fit!
I buy cashmere on sale, some work tops and dresses. Children's motif items but usually I get those second hand. DS is hard to buy jumpers for but he likes their fluffy fleeces.

I really love the style and shape of Boden dresses and many other Boden clothes, but hate the pattern so never buy anymore.

I still buy from Boden, had a couple of skirts that I live in for work and jeans that I wear lots at home. I think the knitwear is good quality and reasonable compared with eg Whistles, Jigsaw, Baukjen etc. And of course customer service is brilliant, always buy when there is free delivery and returns.
