Do the perfect ankle boots exist?

Have trawled Mumsnet for any recommendations, but no success... I’ve been looking for a pair of ankle boots for ages! I constantly see women wearing gorgeous boots that are just the right height to wear with a skirt and jeans/skinny jeans. I can’t wear high heels, about an inch to an inch and a half, but every pair I try on are just too clompy, not the right height at the ankle, or too high... help me find these elusive perfect boots???? Or am I trying to find the impossible

As a PP said mine are all Duo. I have these in black leather from a couple of years ago so I might get the brown ones.

TiredyMcTired the Dune penelope were tight for me at first ..now soo comfy. I often walk to work in them and my friend borrowed them for her Christmas night out too. They look nice with skirt/dress opaqe tights and skinny jeans v versatile if you can find them

I second Sam Edelman petty, I am on my 3rd year and still going strong. They have a heel but ridiculously comfortable

I have a pair of Dune Pontoons too, and love them. They're really nice quality suede. Comfy too. I stalked them for a bit and grabbed them when Dune did a 20% off sale. Only one teeny niggle though - I am irrationally annoyed that only the inside zips work, and the outside ones are there purely for decoration.

Where did you all get your Sam Edelman Petty's? SE is pretty hard to find outside the US, isn't he?

Elspeth, I find Sam Edelman ok to find online in the UK, often with nigh on US pricing too. I'd look on Amazon as my first port of call. Love Sam Edelman shoes, so comfortable and long lasting (I've had my Gigi sandals for years. My Pettys are on their 3/4th winter, and au have a pair of suede Poseys that also look good as new).

Sam Edelman Pettys for me too. I go one pair from Bloomingdales (in the sale, they were cheaper than U.K. prices even with customs tax and shipping) and one from eBay. My black suede ones are perfect with opaque black tights and a skirt or dress. I'm a UK 6 and I have size 8.5 but I think 8 would fit too.

I have the Dune Pontoons! I went to House of Fraser today and dithered for half an hour between the pontoons and 2 pairs from Carvela. My DH was 100% for the Dune boots and they are so comfy, DH has bought them for me for Christmas! Thank you all very much for the recommendations, I really appreciate it!

I love my San Edelman's. Keep an eye on brand alley for them.

Yay, you got the Dunes! Lovely aren't they? They've got some kind of layer of slightly squishy fabric inside, that probably why so comfy.
