Annoyed with myself over concern with body hair!

I like my body hair. In summer i will shave if the whim takes me or I will happily go with fuzzy bare legs.

As it's winter and I'm living in leggings and hoodies I've not shaved in ages. I don't care to. I can't be bothered. The hair doesn't bother me or my partner...

So why, just because I have a smear tomorrow, am I sat in the bath looking at the razor?? My legs and fanny have impressive growth but i just feel like I should shave them. Urgh.

Half of me thinks I should shave. Half of me wants to not, just because I don't have to and I know the nurse doesn't care but I'm worried she will equate it to uncleanliness. Which would be her issue not mine anyway.

Don't sweat it!

I'm a regular-ish leg shaver and bush trimmer (slack in the winter, on it in the summer), but it wouldn't occur to me to 'neaten up' for a smear. Fuck it. Hairy legs and a hairy bush...they mustve seen worse Grin. As long as you're clean, thats all that matters. Embrace the winter fur.

Embrace the winter fur team here too.
Really couldn't give a flying shite about hairy legs.

Elephanah · 12/12/2017 20:26

I just don't want to itch either.

Urgh. It shouldn't even be a thing.

I kept my bush for a recent smear, it was a really young nurse and she probably judged me but obviously never said anything and it was over very quickly so I'm glad I didn't bother. I like my bush and I'm glad I didn't get rid of it just for a smear. Don't worry it'll be fine

Elephanah · 12/12/2017 20:32

I'm not going to do it.

I can't even be bothered tidying up. Full 70s bush ahoy Grin

Ooh no sorry but I’d have to have a tidy up! I know we shouldn’t really care and be all liberal but ultimately I’d hate people judging me... or going in the staff room after and saying ‘gawd that one was a hairy monster!’ However I am seriously hairy and hate it

dudsville · 12/12/2017 21:03

Whoever is judging you when you go for a health check is the person in the wrong. And I bet you'd be heartened to know many of those people you assume are judging you are either thinking about the scd results or whether they got the right present for the dh or wondering whether you are judging them for not having touched up their roots.

CountFosco · 12/12/2017 23:49

But CharlieBoo your person doing the smear might be my friend who says she's amazed at all the bare women she sees. You can't guarantee that we all have the same ideas about bodyhair.

OP, don't bother changing your body hair for a smear.

PaxUniversalis · 13/12/2017 00:56

You don't have to do anything you don't want or feel like. There are no rules.

Personally I would at least 'tidy up' but that' s only because I dislike body hair. As far as I'm concerned the only places where I want to have hair are my head and my eyebrows.
I'm not always disciplined with shaving though so I go for waxes instead.
