Leather bag oil stain - any way to salvage?

I've just discovered a large oily stain on my Radley large cross body bag. It's still quite wet and I'm wondering if anyone has any good tips on how or if this can be salvaged????
I can't afford a new one at the moment as just paid a large sum for car repairs, so any help would be appreciated

I've had luck with saturating the area with witch hazel on a pair of leather shoes I spilt pesto on. Saturate cotton pad with witch hazel, press into the area, leave to dry and repeat until the stain has lifted.

I got oil on my leather radley, thanks DH
I was told to put bicarbonate of soda on it to draw the fat out
We were camping and DH was frying sausages
By the time we got home it had gone anyway

I'm going to try cornflower - thanks

Gah - it's too far gone, I've had to throw it.
The cornflour was a good shout, but it made a gluey mess. I've been dabbing with kitchen roll too but I think too much had soaked in.

Can you just wait. Put it in a dry place and see if it dries out like mine did

CisCucumber · 09/12/2017 21:58

I was told to sprinkle bicarb on it then just leave it

I've retrieved it cis, I'll see if it dries out. Im fairly doubtful as the colour is rubbing out of the leather now though.
It's a pretty big stain, approx 10cm by 4cm across the bottom up both sides 😩.

If you are going to grow it away anyways then put some fairy liquid on it and put it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle . You need an emulsifier to get grease out !

Throw not grow 🙄

I got massage oil all over a pale beige bag (tip - don't take a pale leather bag to Champneys), but after a couple of days the stain just disappeared. I guess it soaked in or evaporated.
