Is it acceptable to wear a maternity dress when you're not pregnant?

Will people know and snigger?

I bought a gorgeous Red Herring dress today and only realised its a maternity dress when I got home. Didn't even know they did maternity stuff!!!

I can't link to it as its not on their website, but its got a low cut, square neckline and then is fitted below the boobs and then flares out a bit. I thought it was very trendy

Then spent ages trying to find shoes to go with it. I want low heels or low wedges and everything seems to be flatties or very high and unconfortable. Grrrrrrr.

I loved my maternity clothes when not pregnant!

I actually bought a top from next in the sale and didnt realise it was maternity, and have worn it to death.

Now im pregnant, im trying to stay in my non-maternity clothes as long as possible!

Half the tops in shops at the moment are empire line tunics so I'm sure it'll be fine.

I am wearing a smock top today brought from a fashion shop yesterday (not maternity) and I am pregnant. All the clothes styles atm look like maternity wear anyway
