Plus a bit of ribbon

Like the picture, bottom right?

MrsBadger · 19/04/2007 14:30

looks like you take the seperate piece of ribbon, thread it in towards your back through one loop and out away from your back through the other, then tie the ends together.

Not sure about the 'little triangles' though...

MamaG · 19/04/2007 14:31

lol cardy

Katymac · 19/04/2007 14:35

Yes - It doesn't really sit well

The 2 little triangles kinda flop around

& the ribbon isn't by my bra strap

sorry my advice wasn't very helpful.
BTW - how did you find this on ebay (there lots of other loely dress from this seller) I can never find anything on ebay?

Katymac · 19/04/2007 14:45

I bought it in the monsoon sale

I searched for Monsoon purple dress

hmm
is your bra too high or too low?

you could always cheat and pin the dress together where it'll hide your bra, tie the ribbon in a bow and pin it on to hide the first pin

Katymac · 19/04/2007 14:46

Too high

what about one of those bras that cross over lower on the back?

Katymac · 19/04/2007 14:49

It's open below the bow - so I'm not sure

I haven't got that sort of bra - I wouldn't have much use for it

any chance you could go braless or is that a Bad Plan?

Katymac · 19/04/2007 14:54

I don't think that shade of purple would match my black eyes if I did that

I'm umm quite big (that's why this dress is so nice as it makes me look smaller & with a flatter tummy

I'd go with concealing bra with bow myself
(and get measured for a new one, current one sounds like it's riding up your back too much)

Katymac · 19/04/2007 15:08

This is new

All my old ones have been thrown out

I was remeasured after loosing pounds

The bra strap is totally horizontal front to back

I think it's the first bra that has fitted me for about 6 years

I think it's the dress & that is why so many were on "sale" (a least that's my story & I'm sticking to it)

oh I bet you're right

go with the pins

Cocobabe · 19/04/2007 16:03

hi ! I have this dress too ! got it in the monsson sale to wear it to a wedding back in Jan . Like you i found the triangle werid ..i think they r there for design feature - so i just tied the ribbon into a bow and left out the triangles . i wore a bra from m&s that has clear straps so it doesnt show at all at back .

Katymac · 19/04/2007 16:20

Did you feel lovely when you are wearing it......I feel all swirly and girly

I might see if I can buy some ribbon and make a tube to fit over my bra....do you think that would work?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 19/04/2007 16:21

oh yes, v good idea

Cocobabe · 19/04/2007 16:33

oh yeah I felt very swirly in it ! received lots of compliments ! really boosted my confidence as I still had the post-bump (gave birth 6wks earlier ) My dd loved me in this dress and said to me I should wear dresses more often !
If you go to M&S website - type in this product code T334001A thats the bra I wore with this dress.
As for your idea - sounds good but could be messy if you get it wrong

Katymac · 19/04/2007 17:36

I have allergies - so I can't use the plastic see through ones
