The impossible task - finding a dress for the Xmas do

Not feeling terribly festive anyway due to lots of things. But have a meal out in December and I need a dress. I'm too fat and big for the designs out there. Too old for sequins and sparkles. Had a fruitless Internet search last night.

I need something not too formal (not floor length) prob knee length that covers my arms and fat legs. Have huge hips and broad shoulders. Size 16. I like navy black Grey. Max £50, though I feel guilty buying something I'd wear once.

Everything looks shit probably because I feel like shit in myself at the minuteSad

Please help!

I like that dress on you, it's v well cut and classic. Also like the sleeves on it!

Thank you. It's my first works do in about 8 years and first night out in ages so I'm really unsure and not at all confident Smile

I do need a bra uplift - been ages since I was last measured and they are tending to sit by my waist Shock

Still on the lookout for a necklace of some description. Planning to cover my greys this week and paint my nails. Decided against red lipstick as it bleeds despite me using a liner. Shame as the dress could probably do with something bright.

Just need to live on air this week so it still fits!

That dress looks great and you look great, too.

I agree you don't need a belt and that an 'important necklace to echo the lovely shape of that neckline would be good, too. Love the shoes, but they are currently the thing that is most noticeable ab your outfit, so would draws the eye down to your feet. A necklace would keep the attention focused up towards your face. Have a great party.

You don't sound as if you are feeling very confident about yourself just now, so if you have time and money how about treating yourself to a fitting at R&P. No need to be 'measured' with a tape, lovely big, private cubicles, a coffee or glass of fizz if you fancy it and then they just bring a range of bras to try. Take the dress to make sure they work together. And then they wrap the purchase beautifully, too. It's addictive, i went once to give myself a lift and never buy bras anywhere else now.

I really like the dress you chose. The silver sandals really lift it. Hope you have a great Christmas meal.

live on air

Nooo...... Come over to the low carb bootcamp thread, it's been life changing for lots of us. No starvation. But also no padding bread, ice, potatoes...no sugar either, your tastes adapt surprisingly quickly. I feel so much better in myself, and about myself, too.

But what would I eat finally 😮
